Searching is my favorite way to end the munchies.

Sorry to be a dick but this has been discussed many times.

Drink water instead, eat something healthy like fruit, yogurt or oatmeal (very filling) or if it bothers you so much restrain yourself or stop smoking.

Eat before you smoke up - you'll still want to eat but you won't because your stomach is full... It's the best method I've found.

Sitting around is the WORST thing you can do. Sure, it's fun to just sit and chill, but it's also a munchie trap.

Like Taylor mentioned, get up and do something. Outside is best because food isn't as accessible. Take a walk, take pictures, ride a bike, people watch, etc.

If you're stuck inside or are one of those people that can hardly move after smoking, do something that engages your fine motor skills. Try sewing, knitting, tracing, drawing, writing, painting, coloring, sculpting, wood carving, beading, making hemp jewelry, etc. Those things will help take your mind off of food, and I read somewhere that employing fine motor skills releases endorphins, which also help decrease appetite. You can also still listen to music or watch a movie while doing these things.

If that stuff doesn't work, prepare your munchie snacks before you get high. Cut up a few different fruits and stick them in the fridge or freezer. If they're not of a high enough munchie quality, sprinkle some cinnamon or lowfat/fat free/sugar free chocolate syrup on top. Or prepare a nice big, healthy salad beforehand. And depending on your living arrangement, as much as possible keep packaged ready to eat foods out of the house.

Nope, marijuana most certainly does not cause short-term memory loss.
