They are the worst. They're expensive as fuck (the whole reason for their existence), and they tear the shit out of my face, leaving it all red and blotchy looking. Whenever I use a single-blade razor I get a much cleaner shave without any of the redness and irritation. And for a fraction of the price.

What kind of of razor do you use? Single-blade, multi, electric? Which do you prefer most?

    Razors are stupid.

I'd love to be able to use a strait razor, just for stupid ego reasons - but I can't, and they're terrifying. I haven't shaved in several years - I can't really grow shit for a beard, and considering my age I'm not sure I'll ever be able to - but where I do grow hair, I don't break out, while the rest of my face is a disaster - I believe the hair wicks oil away from the skin, but does it slowly enough that it keeps it lubricated and moisturized - beard seems to be the only thing in the world that can keep my face in equilibrium.

I'd use a single-blade disposable razor, as before I stopped shaving, if I needed to. I'd rather make several passes with one blade, than one pass with less control with a multi-blade razor - the effect is still less instances of the blade traveling over my face, and as good a result. If I didn't need to be clean shaven but wanted it cut, I'd just run it down to stubble length with a buzzer, and avoid breaking out.

i use triple-blade razors. sometimes ones with the replacement heads, sometimes disposable razors. i guess i fell for the multiple blade gimmick, as i'm not sure if i've ever shaved with a single-blade razor. i only get razor burn on my neck.
and in general, i use those razors for way longer than i probably should.

I wouldn't shave if my job didn't force me to. So I prefer a double blade razor with a gel strip. Any razor that has more than 3 blades is redundant and counterproductive just like you said. Plus, when you shave with a 4,5, or 6 blade razor, it's tough to get the mustache area under your nose accurately.

I don't shave but when I used to Personal Touch was my favorite brand. They don't make them anymore.

i have a 3 blade. i don't know that it's any different from a 2 or 4 blade, but when i use a single blade on occasion it does feel like it's pulling all the hair out of my face instead of shaving it off.

I got an electric shaver when I was 15 and I still use that one. If it would stop working (which it inevitably should sooner or later :p But so far it still seems to be working fine) I would probably go and get a disposable razor with one blade first. But I like how many costs I have spend on shaving the last 15 years (pretty much nothing).

I had one of those Gillette razors I bought waaaay back when, that had a single blade and a little dial that would change the angle of the

blade. It was the best, but I lost it somewhere along the way. I'm waiting for a 20 blade razor---only have to move it one inch---and

    you're shaved!

(Removed a wrong word) I had this instead of those.

twin blades actually work well. but these crazy things they sell now with four blades in them, all that does is make and excuse to make them more expensive. and a damd lame excuse for doing so as far as i can tell.

Old fashioned single blade safety razor with real razor blade. Had the same one now for 30 years or more.

I don't like these plastic disposable things regardless of how many blades.

When I had the chance to not shave I grew a beard. How nice that was. Now I scrape my face daily(the worst part of the day or part I dread) with just a double blade disposable with shaving cream. I used to just use water, I bled more then

Yep, a friend of me convinced me of getting one too! I only shave like once a week anyway so I have that trimmed beard look a lot of the time already.
