Targeting certain rogue T cells prevents and reverses multiple sclerosis in mice: Findings may also apply to autoimmune arthritis and other forms of encephalomyelitis

They've been steadily closing in on a cure for MS in the last decade or so, and this work is related to the also successful work they've been doing in stimulating the immune system to fight cancer. The immune system still remains more of a mystery than anything else other than the brain, and the immune system is an integral aspect of diseases such as Autism, which is epigenetic according to the evidence. The next ten years should reveal the fundamental secrets of how our brain, immune system, and body clocks all work. Right now, it appears that our immune system, digestive system, and nervous system all have their own brains that coordinate with the one in your head. The brain in our stomach consists in part of the flora and fauna that inhabit it, the brain in our nervous system goes down your spine, with the top of your spine regulating things like pain without consulting the brain. Our T-cells are part of your spleen, which is extremely delicate for an internal organ and, apparently, is a major part of the brain for our immune system.

It appears that our stomachs have their own clocks, which suggests our different brains need to coordinate their clocks to improve the immune system response. Sleep is a major factor in building your immune system. Note that, in a sense, even your heart appears to have a minimalistic brain, which has a direct connection to the brain in our heads, that can stimulate fear. Even the slightest electrical current across your heart can make you fearful, and our emotions obviously also play a role in our immune system.
