Does anyone know of any good movies along these lines? I've realise that a lot of my favorite movies deal with manipulation. Below are the best examples I can think of.

    Matchstick Men
    Training Day
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
    The Shape of Things
    Whiplash
    Compliance (2012)
    Rope (Hitchcock)
    The Truman Show

Ha that is a hellofa question!!!!

    How about BLADE RUNNER!
    or
    2001 A Space Oddysey

The list is endless because it is a fascinating aspect of human behavior gone awry.

So you've seen 'the shape of things'? Not many people have seen that movie.

Dude, are you sure those are good examples? They just seem like the same ole Star Wars / Harry Potter / Lord of the Rings sort of stuff. Fantasy / Sci Fi stuff for kids????

Don't all movies manipulate people to spend their money in order to watch it...

Some movies are made just to make money. That does not mean to say they are devoid of art in any way. The first Airport movie was a money maker but nevertheless had some pretty good acting.
    Airport (1970) - IMDb
There are some other movies that shine a spotlight on social injustice.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) - IMDb
    Family Life (1971) - IMDb

I just watched a movie from 1994 titled 'The Last Seduction'.

Wow. I've seen some nasty females in Noirs over the years, but this one (played by Linda Fiorentino) is something else. She is heartless - and hypnotic in her wickedness. The thing with modern noirs - as compared to code-age noirs - is that you can't count on justice at the end of the modern ones. Makes them scarier, if not more satisfying.

After I watched this I went to IMDb to see what the critics thought - it's that kind of movie where you really do wonder about the reaction it got - and found that Roger Ebert gave it his highest rating (4 Stars).
