Actually, it means a lot. Regardless of what your actions are, you are christian if you believe you are christian. Every christian distorts the bible, and follows some things to the letter and ignores others. This is at least because something in the bible don't agree. What is it that makes mother theresa more christian than hitler? Was it her deeds? Are good deeds inherently christian? Or only if you profess to be a christian while you do them? Why is it different for bad deeds?

Put a different way...Mother Theresa had her own interepretation of the bible. That may or may not have affected the way she acted. She may have acted the same were she atheist...look up Paul Farmer. He did very similar things in haiti, and was atheist.

Hitler had his own interpretation of the bible. Everyone does. What makes MT's better or more accurate than hitler's?

Please can people read posts I hate repeating myself and since I have done it 1000 times I'm not doing it again for you. Please read any of my posts on Hitler or Mother Teresa or one what a real Christian is and you would know that your actions and how you live your life decide whether or not you are a Christian. Like I said before: If I claimed to be a tin can that doesn't make me a tin can. Jsut like if Hitler claimed to be Christian it didn't make him Christian. To be a true CHRISTian you must at LEAST make an attempt to act like CHRIST and you must follow his rules, hence "CHRIST"ian. Hitler made no attempts to be like Christ and didn't follow the rule Jesus preached.

Yeah, Hitler was a true churchian to the core, but not at all a true christian.

That which is not false, and is in accordance with the truth.

There is nothing wrong with judging, as long as that is not done by hypocrites, and as long as those who criticize and judge has the heart to help.

What makes your truth the truth for all? Is it not the truth as you perceive it? Only a fully enlightened person can see the Truth. So it is safe to say that only an enlightened person can judge; however, that person would not judge because judging others doesn't benefit anyone.

The truth I perceive is derived through logic and reasoning, as Krishna and Buddha and Vivekananda has taught us to do. Truth is objective , and we can all access it .

The difference between the enlightened master and the others is that he can see the highest truth through his intuitions. He is allknowing, a buddha.

But till we attain that state, we should depend on reason and logic to find the truth , as taught by the masters.

I agree with you completely. Until we reach enlightenment, we must remember that our truth may not be Truth.

To the Hindu, man is not traveling from error to truth, but from truth to truth, from lower to higher truth.

Not at all. He wasn't a true Christian.

IF you indeed follow LOGIC then you would easily agree with me the Hitler was not true Christian. Unless you live in a different universe where logic is something different. Logically Hitler did not follow CHRISTs teachings so how could he be a CHRISTian?

You can't claim a monopoly on the definition of a christian. Claiming to be a tin can doesn't make you one because that is a physical state, whereas christianity is a purely mental one. If you believe you are a christian, you are indeed.

I do not believe that the christians who stand in peace vigils are more "christian" than those who make a living selling drugs or hate gays or blacks or something like that. They are certainly better people, more in-line with civil society, but I don't think you can determine a faith by acts. What about Paul Farmer, who I mentioned above? He gives his time, money, and his life to aid those in need, but doesn't believe in god. Is he still christian?

No, you must believe Jesus is the son of God to be a Christian as well. Let me rephrase my statement: Hitler may have been a religious man who believed in a God similar to that of the Christian God, but he certainly wasn't a Christian because he followed none of Christs teachings.
It's a simple matter of logical understanding of language: CHRIST is in the word CHRISTian. The religion is called CHRISTianity because it is based off of CHRISTs teachings. If someone is not following the teachings of CHRIST then they are not CHRISTian. People who do not follow the teachings of CHRIST can call themselves Christian, but it is far from being reality.

YOU are the one talking out of YOUR ass. Logic and reasoning seem to slip by you in an instant and you stillt ry to tuse them in your arguements.

Who made YOU the judge? You judge people ALL the time (Christians specifically), so before you try to make an arguement like that think about the hypocrisy.

The only reason I repeat my arguements is because they are relevant. Plus, if an arguement is correct then there is no reason to bring it up again and again.
As Ghandi said: "Even if I am a minority of one, truth is still truth."
BTW, thanks niranjan for that quote! :)

You do not have to believe jesus was the son of god to be a christian. Before the council of nicaea, there was not one opinion on the matter. Some who were christian believed he was a man and not the son of god.

And what's your take on the second half of my last post?
