Many traditional cultures tend to see the earth as mother. But if it bothers you, let's just call it 'the' earth
The problem is that we live in a toxic culture. Not just toxic to nature, but toxic to the human psyche. Minds toxified with lies,hate, deceits, half-truths, disinformation and control. Probably there's little chance of enough people waking up until some kind of major catastrophe hits. By then it may be too late. I hope though that I'm wrong, and some harmonious way forward can be found.
