What is the most violent movie you've ever seen? And I'm not talking about war movies, or horror movies where the violence is essential to the plot. I'm talking about disturbing, GRATUITOUS violence.

    I don't know. I don't understand people's love of watching gratuitous violence.

Sometimes gratuitous violence is essential to make a great movie. A Clockwork Orange is very disturbing and it isn't for the faint of heart, but it's nevertheless a great movie with lots of artistic merit.

I can sort of see that, although I just don't want images like that to be in my mind. The world is hideous enough as it is... I don't want any extra horrible things to think about.

I've always loved the classic "torture" scene in Reservoir Dogs. It's what comes to mind.
