how about... Spun. That movie about methanphetamine that was whored by Showtime for about 2 months. Mmm crank!
I own that movie, too! I got it at Wal-Mart for three bucks...along with a few other dejected movies that never made it to the big screen. The girl I'm dating really loves that movie for some reason...I just think its interesting. Yup. Gotta love those interesting, low budget films.
Yeah, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón is one of the best Spanish actresses, and I agree, she is pure sensuality. And I saw an interview when they made this movie where Aitana was asked how was the relation with Keanu, and she started laughing, and said that she always said to him the phrase: "Eres un soso de cojones". LOL Well, it's hard to translate the sentence but it's just hilarious. When I can translate it i'll do it for ya. And I didn't like this movie very much. Under-rated movies: all Steven seagal's
Trainspotting is not under-rated at all. at least, here in europe is very well known, and I love that movie, also that my brother watched it at school to have a real view of drugs, because a lot of people said that the movie for drugs, but it's totally false, it's such a real and hard view of the junkies world. well, you laugh a lot during the movie, but it's a very hard movie in some ways. Ewan Mc Gregor jumped to fame with this movie.
I agree, I would never think of "Trainspotting" as underrated. It might not be as popular in the US, but it's very well known in Europe. I agree ,the movie does not encourage drugs, it shows the reality of a junkie's life. The ups, and downs, the attemps to quit, and how bloody hard it is.
I would mention "Afterhours". Drugs, sex, and weird things going on. And did I mention Cheech and Chong are in it?
End-the actress you are thinking of in Night on Earth is Winona Ryder...both that and ghost dog were directed by one of my favorite directors, Jim Jarmusch...you should aslo check out Mystery Train, Down By Law, Stranger than Paradise, and OF COURSE Dead Man by him.
ghost dog was an awesome fuckin' movie, man. Forst whitaker has jim bruer eyes...but more african-american-ized.
I liked that movie too...seriously, check out Dead Man...its the one he made just before Ghost Dog, I love it.
cool, my first revived thread. Thanks livingwater. I haven't seen any of those movies, but here's some more movies... -Joe's Apartment (when do you ever hear someone talking about this movie?) -Delicatessen, awesome Italian (I think) movie about cannibals -Ravenous, another cannibal movie
Pumpkin...that got such mediocre ratings but i think it is a great comedy full of hidden metophores and a great satire.
