And come on! You think Depp is over-rated? Have you seen Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas? I have never seen a better Hunter S. impression. And what about Dead Man- he does an amazing job in that movie......Edward Scissor Hands?
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory might have sucked....but he has done some good work that I would challenge any of you to even come close to being able to do.

hmmm.....I thought Depp was more true to the charachter.
I mean the man lived in Hunter's basement and everything- they became good friends. But to each his own...

And quite a few. There is a Hunter dress up/acting contest out in Chicago- so I think I've seen around a hundred or so.

 

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! They must be a bunch of stupid twats...

 

Actually Murray took the role because he was a friend of Hunter to begin with, and immersed himself in it, to the point where he was done with the movie and returned to SNL, he still was acting with the persona of Hunter.

And people need to remember, Fear and Loathing is based on a story, Where the Buffalo Roam is more based on the actual people and more realistic to life.

 

Actually, Johnny Depp was hand picked to play the role by Hunter himself.

Also, Fear and Loathing is actually a semi-autobiography.
