I hardly watch movies anymore. Too many with either vampires, zombies, superheroes, or other fantasy. And too much special effects and rapid editing.

I noticed that trend took off once computerized editing became the norm.

It became more "look what I can do!" without really adding much to the plot, just more adrenalin pumping. Which is fine for some I suppose.

But now that it's the norm, especially in films and video games for younger audiences, kids and young adults have distorted views of reality. VR promises to make it far worse.

    Good luck with that!

Every Harry Potter movie. I also agree with all the people who said Signs. Baby Driver was ok but not the masterpiece everyone thinks it is. Avatar was drivel but looked pretty. Loved Jordan Peele's Get Out but hated Nope. Nope was all hype and no substance. The majority of M Night Shylaman's movies. His career was built almost entirely by hype. His debut film was great and he's been cruising on that hype ever since.

Watch arthouse movies. Some movies such as Klute are more like British Movies than anything from Hollywood.
