Most over-rated Drug

I can only speak for coke, but essentially, yes... Why not take some X and be euphoric for HOURS?! Its way cheaper too... And not addictive like the above...

 

I have not done this specific drugs, but have heavy interest in those classes (opioids, dopaminergic stimulants) and find that they provide way more than 20 minutes of energy and euphoria. It is much more nuanced than that. But that is just my two cents.

Coke is overrated, even though I can get some really good coke, for cheap, it's still not all that , having to do some every 30-45 minutes to stay high sucks IMO,,dunno why they were so wild about it in the 70's and paid $100 a gram or more, thats = to like $300 a gram nowdays more or less, not that good to be paying that much or the equivalnet in todays dollars..

 

No way!! Coke is like that(if it's not very good anyway, still at the most coke keeps you high for 30-45 minutes tops tho),,meth lasts for 12+ hours or more full of energy, but it will take you down if you mess with it too much, and heroin lasts for about 5-6 hours, it's not about energy surge with heroin, you get a rush of varying degrees depending on how you use it, and the euporia from good powder heroin lasts for hours, Anyway if you smoke crack then you got a 10 minute surge of a rush, and then a crash, but crack is not a good thing to be doing, coke is much better when IV'd although it is short and sweet rush that way, still longer than crack smoking,but not as long lasting as snorting coke, but it's 10 times better rush to IV coke...

I still stand with Nicotine and Alcohol as being the most over-rated. I think that Psychedelics (5-HT2A agonists NOT delerients or Muscarinic antagonists), Dopaminergic Stimulants, and Opioids are all 'rated' properly as being the top shelf of drugs.

i've never tried coke or heorin or meth, but I would say that they're the most overrated because of what they do to you, but I vote for alcohol.

 

I've never done cocaine but from all of the people I know who have it just doesn't sound worth it at all.
Also alcohol. This could be a personal thing because it makes me completely numb, kind of dead inside lol.

 

coke has the worst consequences imo. weed is excellent and dxm was cool.

Mostly doing a line of coke just makes me want another line. Whatever the "euphoria" it produces is lost on me, I don't *feel* high. Now a line of herion, THAT would make me feel high.

I'm gonna say opiates, even though that was not an option. Heroin being the exception. I've never done heroin, nor even seen it in person. I did however do a shit load of oxycodone over the course of 2 years. That shit SUX!!!! MDMA is my definetly my fav overall.

Can I ask why you think opioids are over-rated? Is it simply because you have bad memories of being dependent on them? Or is it because you genuinely think that they are not as exciting as people think. Because I have met very few people who think opioids are over-rated. MANY people don't LIKE opioids because they don't like the addiction that comes with them, but most people still LOVE the effects of them.

And how would you know that you would like Heroin if you have never tried it. Anyways, Heroin is just another mu-opioid receptor agonist like Oxycodone. All opioids have the same mechanism of action (except some subtleties over the Delta and Kappa opioid receptors which don't lend towards recreational value), so at equivalent doses, and administered the same way (IV or oral etc.), most people can't distinguish which are which.

I am not attacking you. I am just curious because, besides the addiction, I don't see anything 'over-rated' about opioids. They are some of the very few drugs that inevitably produce a positive experience no matter what the set or setting is. I could be on opioids in a sewer after getting robbed and still feel the warmth and contentment that I always get from them.

 

Cocaine is overrated, and sickeningly so. I tried it once when I experimented with drugs a bit. It was underwhelming, and too expensive

 

I voted Cocaine for the thread but I think Opiates are very overrated too. Aside from oxycontin, every other opiate I have tried has been a fairly mild experience. (hydrocodone, codiene, percocet) They almost all make me itch coming off them and occasionally they make me feel like shit in the morning. Disassociatives substitute for pretty much all the positive effects I find in opiates plus they have a more interesting headspace for me, and less surface negative effects. Disassociatives come with their own baggage as well though. Different strokes for different folks.
