I'm really impressed by The Grateful Dead's stuff, it's amazing. Was wanting to know what is their most experimental, weird, and psychedelic album that may or may not be perfect for an acid trip? ;)

Well, the weirdest is Seastones, but for a trip, I would recommend Anthem of the Sun.

anthem, for sure. AOXOMOXOA would work nicely, too... especially the latest reissue with the bonus tracks and all.

For me, AOXOMOXOA always sounded a bit too sterile compared to their organic live shows. Dupree's Diamond Blues is one of my favorite songs, tho.

AOXOMOXOA is definitely as you described. But hey, brother man was looking for studio stuff... OP, check out the live stuff.

American Beauty. Just because it's relatively popular doesn't mean that it wasn't groundbreaking.

I would say BLUES FOR ALLAH finds the Dead going out on limbs and exploring territory new to them. The album starts pretty much like what you would expect, but by side two it goes deep, and you will or will not hang on until the end.....

Infrared Roses is a trippy one it was assembled by Bralove from drums, space and ambient crowd noise. there's no real songs, just jams given titles.

for something to trip to, go to archive.org and grab 6/23/74 Miami fl. jai alai fronton
you just can't go wrong with 74 Dead.
