I disagree. There's actually some really good hip hop out there actually, especially the instrumental stuff. As for Garage, I would say kill it...but it inspired the creation of DUBSTEP.
Local radio is played over the tannoy at work. Plain White T's and the new James Blunt are killing me at the minute...5 or 6 times a day
Mars Volta. Because eighteen minutes or so of silence, ambient white noise, and birds chirping is pretty heart-pounding shit.
:O ... :O :O Theyre damn talented! Not everyones kind of music and not usually mine at all, but i know talent when i see it (hear it) I agree with those who find the arctic monkeys boring sorry And rap bores me to death and things like Akon or whatever theyre called, i duno, i dont even know the genre names but i know what i mean My music taste is very odd And things like Girls aloud etc, but that goes without saying...
I wouldnt mind Snow Patrol so much if they just brushed up on their grammar "If i lay here If i just lay here Would you lie with me?" "To lie" according to Snow Patrol: I lay You lie He lyeth They lies We iz lays man Lay what, eggs? Paving slabs? Its just vexing
I'll turn up to your funeral waving big pictures of you with that straw hat with the "GIRL" badge on it.
i totally agree with you. tis something power13 already gets annoyed at me about. *waits to be slapped by power13*
when you've seen a little more of life you will see the emotions and truths in this music, the observations are acute and while you may jump on the bandwagon and come out with the standard comment "oh i feel like slitting my wrists when i here this! you havent heard what he is saying or felt what he is playing. This is often melancolic music, but very reflective of times and feeings than of depression. Try listening to it in a few years maybe ty opening your mind to it.
I have made a list. I looked through this thread and found all the artists/bands whom i like/love and here they are: Bon Jovi, Keane, James Blunt, Kaiser Chiefs, Artic Monkeys, Queen, Coldplay, Nirvana, Kooks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, McFly, Madonna, Blink 182, Razorlight, Maroon 5, Stereophonics, Snow Patrol, Plain White Ts, Right now i REALLY LOVE Plain White Ts... But hey, if i dont like it i dont remember it, mainly because i tend not to listen to it again.
I don't know about boring, but I find the bands I hate the most are similar in style to the bands I love, but make it so wrong. For instance at the Move festival in Manchester a couple of years ago the Pixies were followed by the Stereophonics. One of the best guitar based bands supporting utter shit. Mind you years ago the Pixies supported U2. To me U2 = musical cancer.
Precisely. Bono is a pretentious wanker, and I've yet to hear a U2 song that I wanted to hear again (except for Electrical Storm, I heard that four or five times before getting tired of it). I'd say pretty much everything that's on radio 1. Barely any exceptions (like back when John Peel used to do hi stuff.. RIP man )
