A short while ago, a gentleman wrote about his experiences going from one place to another by aircraft and deliberately not taking footwear and he was successful. After reporting this, several people emailed saying that they disagreed with his behavior because, by taking flip-flops with them in a number of situations, they ensured a kind of safety. My problem with this is that I think both sides are correct. Some people when taking part in non-conformist behavior enjoy the challenge of trying to get away with as much as possible. Others, in the case of going barefoot, are not nearly as concerned with that aspect, but simply want to enjoy going without shoes as much as possible. I think there is room for both sides without criticizing the other.
And that, kids, is why some posters no longer bother. A lot of these topics have been “answered” many times, but there is always someone new to the barefoot problem. Neatness doesn’t count for much ennymor, so at leest lets be plesent to eech uther. rite?
