The I am I call myself is the same I am you call yourself. We are all very compassionate people toward those things we identify as our own. As you do to the least of these you do also to me. Everything that you experience occurs inside of you, not remotely, ever. The results are in you and in your capacity to manage your creative energy. Patience saves thousands of years of trial and error. Impatience is a feeling that things are not being accomplished but that cannot be true of reality can it? Is reality only on it's way to becoming real? By judgement I mean evaluation. Not in the sense of making distinctions but in attributing worthiness. We may legitimately make the distinction of workability as far as function. We never complain about reality, only our interpretation of it. What I am saying is if I do not complain, I soon find I have fewer complaints. I deal with the situation not by the dissipation of complaint but by allowing the mastery of my own nervous system to emerge.
They are gradients of one spectrum. All living things share one impulse and that is to be and to extend that being, creation. All life begins at conception. An analogue to this, everything is an idea. The manifestation if ideas requires frequency and duration. Singular focus. Effort towards a desired aim. We do not experience consistent effects because we call upon different principles. We are self defeating. In one instance we say good and in another we say bad. Storms are caused by uneven heating.
Well Dope, we agree more than you think, I believe. I'll go through your points again, as it seems this thread is getting a few hits and its been pretty boring around here lately! Okay, that takes us back to your point of differing definitions of good. Sure, there are different definitions. And here, I believe is where we differ. You, and I mean the separate you, that resides in some house somewhere, keep going back to the something that lives forever. It seems you deny any separate existence. Yet, I assume, you must eat, eliminate waste, sleep; you cannot read my thoughts, see through my eyes, and so on. That can be annihilated. The part that experiences all of the above, cannot be annihilated. Both are true. When we say "I am That" we are acknowledging not just the "That", but the "I" also. I do not deny my humanity and I do not deny my divinity, the two are one.
This is only detrimental if all factors are the same. And we are back to denying any individual differences, the entire point of being human. Actually, there is no inside or outside if you wish to be exact. This implies a separate I, what happened to the we are all one? Okay. I don't understand this. Are you saying reality is accomplishing something? I'm getting out of order here.... Sometimes. You tell an interesting story and I'm glad it worked out for you, but would your reaction work in all situations? Is submission always the answer? On to opposites. You can twist these definitions any way you want to get the results you are after. You made the statement that like attracts like, and I gave an example of magnetic poles being opposite and attractive. Now you tell me they are not opposite but congruent? There are several definitions to this word. How are you using it? North and south have a relationship? Do they fulfill, or complete each other? Or are they in contrast to one another? So, please give me an example of opposites. But the poles are not opposite, not in contrast to one another? Not in contrast, they must be the same. Does the flow between the poles differ in any way? Does it travel in one direction from one pole and enter the other from an opposite or different? No? All is quiet. Nothing changes. Life is our education. When we enter the world, we learn its rules, as we are taught by many experiences. We are also taught to look for differences and to discover what is there. Discovering what is there is the whole purpose of life. Certainly, I hope we're not going to get into aculturalization here, as that is another subject that has been studied in the behavioral sciences.
I never thought we were far apart. Save perhaps for the necessity to accuse. In fact what is real is the only thing good. Being is good. I do not posit different definitions of good. Can you think of a better good than being? Only god is good, is the saying. A relativistic good is a reflection of warm bloodedness. That is our creaturehood exists in a temperate zone. That zone however is one of many we may participate in. The body is a communication device set a certain frequency. We interface with this system, within the bounds of the high and low limit of bandwidth perceptible and agreeable to the human body. However mind is naturally abstract, it has no such temperate boundary. We are a pulse of magnanimous intent that manifests diversely in form but identical in content thru and thru. It is important to note; Animus animates animal, not the other way around. I do not deny my creaturehood. I choose it. It does not choose me. I do deny the homo-centric claim of specialness. I do deny that there are good humans and bad humans and I affirm that all of "humanity' is shared in every respect. Creation is a law without opposite.
Onward... (An illusion) Very well in theory, have you ever heard of "the Ghost Dancers"? If I believe can I stop bullets? Do you wish to get into the chain of perception as it relates to the senses, objects, mind, relationships, interpretations, etc. I am well aware of Buddhist and Vedic thought on that subject. Well partly anyway! But when I kick a stone it still hurts. Take care.
Is one place more real than another? All the factors are the same. Your personality is not yours because it is different, It is yours because it is uniquely yours. Specialness is the egos greatest defense against the truth. By ego I mean that part of you that conceives itself separate, alone, or without it's good. You will not allow me to be that exact. This is where polarity comes in. You may listen to a composition. You may compose, and you may harmonize composition. We are talking about direction of oscillation or flow when we say inner or outer. It is both nature, and nurture in concert. The ebb and flow of rise and fall, in and out. I have a saying for this. Love is without condition, (polarity), everything else is respiration, (absorption and reflection). Your locus of control, personality, individuality is inviolate. Your mind a kingdom you alone can rule. But at the same time it is a mind we share and the experience of separation is wholly transient or temporal. No I am asking why we should feel impatient. We are here, reality is going nowhere, what is not real does not exist. We are in a constant state of becoming but, becoming nothing in particular, we emerge diversely, not linearly or even on a vertical axis. To submit in this instance is simply to maintain my own mental integrity. To submit in this instance if you recall the story, was the result of observation, of correctly determining the nature of the threat. I could see quite plainly as the others struggled more and greater force was applied. And I could see the terror and desperation in the children ahead of me. I perceived the dynamic of how these forces fed on one another. If you keep your head and don't fall into the natural outcome of a conditional dynamic you will discover a deftness in meeting any situation. Emotional discomfort, anger, sadness, jealousy and the like are products of internal discourse. Not outside influences or circumstances. Creation is a law without opposite. An expression of this is hot always flows toward cold. Hot is one pole, cold is another. They appear opposite because the sense of them is dramatically different, but they are poles of the same spectrum, that is absolute zero to the speed of light. In orientation, not as a result of conflict but as a result of accommodation for diversity. A kind of cosmic traffic control. Respiration occurs. I do not know what you refer to as far as being studied by behavioral sciences. Tradition is an occult practice, of the cult, culture, it has nothing to do with what is but is someones idea of what must be. What is practical is that which we practice.
A figure of speech reflecting the power of belief to distort our perceptions. I do not believe I can stop bullets. I believe that I am not a body. i am not at all aware of buddhist and vedic thought on the subject
Well, Dope you make some good points, but I think we, myself in particular, have sort of taken over this thread. And, I don't think we're making a lot of progress, since we keep talking on different levels, I believe, at the same time, about the same thing: Example: the two poles thing. I know you can't have one pole without the other, good without evil etc., but at another level they're are still opposites, unless someone chooses to believe opposite is a word without meaning, if you are walking toward me and I say go in the opposite direction, you would know which way to go.....so, anyway I don't think we'll get much farther this way. Maybe we can continue in another thread, by narrowing our scope perhaps, as I do enjoy the conversations. Maybe someone else would care to comment?
As long as the discourse is of a certain quality it is a good read for everyone who is concerned for such things, so I personally don't think it matters who is contributing or how much. Perhaps I can help with the opposites thing. We move from hot to cold, never the other way. One end of the spectrum hot, speed of light, the other end cold, absolute zero. Hold and cold are not opposing forces, extension is creation. The hot flows to where it is not, so to speak. Life expands into virgin territories. There is no opposing will. Those who do not meet are not in opposition, they don't meet at all. Views are displaced they do not annihilate each other. That is because we cannot have more than one specific thought in any instance. Where there is love, fear flees, where there is fear, love is forgotten. Each single moment is holy unto itself, that is without any inconsistency or blemish. The question of worthiness is errant apprehension. All that is extant is worthy as existing. Nothing real can be threatened but we can have terrifying dreams. Suspicion is best applied to the extent of our own understanding as reality treats everyone the same.
Mortality and perversion - that would be a good topic . But morality and perversion .... Some people know morality is fake and perversions of any kind is not bad as long as no one is forced into something etc. Other like to bother people who are not like them.
And some people have attitudes they are unaware they have, that is, They may theoretically know that morality is "fake" as you say, but may be all the same morally offended when their hidden value system is tweaked. We develop attitudes covertly through repetitious exposure to cultural inclinations.
