Well I say it did happen, having heard the audio, and the statement by a Fox Noise 'reporter" who was also in the room.

    It seems quite undeniable.

Grabbed him by the throat and threw him to the ground breaking his glasses for asking a question holding a cellphone to record the answer.

Don't know how a candidate running for office would not expect to be grilled by the press... it's what we do in the US.

In another place the reporter would simply not have the nerve to ask any questions, and if he did would be disappeared rather quickly.

Glad there is some freedom of the press left or we wouldn't know how bad it really is.

The question is, unfortunately, will this help or hurt his election bid?

    We just don't know.

  7. Yeah on the one hand freedom of the press...on the other hand bitchin' bodyslammer.

Freedom of the press is legal...physically assaulting anyone is not....but oh, yeah.....some in politics, are above the law.

Also, the speaker of the house is telling him to apologize today....for what if he is innocent?

If he is innocent, I am sure he has a good slander case, then.

It's pretty ridiculous to claim that you need video evidence for something like this. As if someone would make it up. From a legal standpoint the audio and eye witnesses are plenty for a charge. The man is emboldened by Trump and thinks he can treat people this way.

I think consequences are in order. I saw Speaker of the House Ryan live on the news saying that the guy should apologize. That seems a little light! :)

    For attacking a reporter.

The man was just trying to do his job which was to report the news.
He was asking a policy question about the nonpartisan report on the effects of Trumpcare. He wasn't asking a personal question.
The question could not have been asked earlier as the report just came out. the question couldn't have been asked later as the election is today.
It was asked in a public interview, he was polite, he was attacked without warning.

On top of that a spokesman for Scanlon then blamed the reporter:
If you listen to the recording you will find that the statement is not backed up by the recording. Additionally the spokesman called the reporter a liberal journalist, as if that excuses his actions.

This was not a normal average person and this was not a stranger. This was a politician running for office the day before the election at a public media event open to reporters.

He better get used to having recording devices shoved in his face as that's the job of reporters and the free press in regards to public officials.

The question was not stupid he asked about the CBO score...what's stupid about that? Don't the Montana voters have a right to know what his opinion is on that subject?
He didn't refuse to leave, he was told to talk to someone else and before he could react he was attacked.

    Why would you support this?
