+ rep times two. A totally heartfelt post. QP P.S. So why were you wondering about what floor I live on? I'm just way curious? Skyscrapers are so common in any semi-big city. QP
I Was Just Curious, Because I Have Never Known Anybody Who Has Lived In One, My Main Interest Was How Expansive Your Views Were From Up There, And How You Felt About High Winds, And Earthquakes Affecting You.... Cheers Glen.
thank you QP, it is tough losing family I feel for your loss too. Steffy is the only family I have now, sad but true You are correct, cats have a natural gift of empathy, Steffy just "seemed" to know something wasn't right and stuck closer to me for a couple of days than she would normally do. she does do something which totallly freaks me out; she'll stare at the wall with a burning intensity, I'll turn to look and there is nothing there. I'll look back at her and she's still staring at that spot then she'll look at me, blink her eyes, lay down and go to sleep.
Aww thank you! I also love that fact. Lots of people believe that cats are incapable of being affectionate and loving, and only really care about themselves. But having owned, or more to the point, been owned by (! lol) two cats, I know for a fact that is simply not true. The people who say things like that are ignorant about cats. I think what it really is, is that cats are not subserviant like dogs are, and that is the real reason why some people like dogs, but hate cats. Cats are very capable of showing affection, but it's always on their own terms. They are free spirits, and that's what I love about them. <3 Does Monster actually belong to you now? The catching birds and leaving them on their human companion's doorstep, is in fact, a show of affection. Even outdoor cats who are well fed will still do this, because they believe that the dead bird (or mouse or whatever) is a gift for their human companion/s. hehe Yep... Cats can certainly be mischievous and rascally, but evil? Nope, never.
Nope. I wish! His owner would not sell him for a million bucks. And I don't blame him. It's funny about cats being thought of as evil? They certainly harm the planet much less than humans. Big time. :sunny: QP
Oh sorry, I must have misunderstood... I thought you had taken him on! lol And I don't blame him either, I wouldn't sell or trade my cat in for anything, he is priceless to me. <3 People who think that cats are evil dont understand them, it really is as simple as that! Oh god, absolutely! Humans are the evil ones, if you ask me. No species has caused as much destruction and harm to our planet as humans have done. No other species comes close when it comes to that. To me, cats are angels.
Nothing-literally, no thing- is evil except humans. The African frog that eats its young, the lions devouring the still-breathing zebra, the spider poisoning a beautiful beetle.....they aren't evil. They are simply doing what evolution (or God, if that's your thing) has programmed them to do. No-one programmed modern humans to fuck the planet, fuck with each others' emotions or to rape, kill and pillage. Yet we do, every day. I'd rather be a fucking axlotl than a human.
I remember being at the zoo when I was a young boy. And I saw this mirror on one of the walls in the Monkey House (as it was called). There was a small sign below the mirror: Man Is The Most Dangerous Animal. And it gave me the chills to see my own image in the mirror (I was only 10). But now I totally get it. QP P.S. What's an axlotl?
Axlotl What a cute little creature! I'd never seen one before. :2thumbsup: QP P.S. Learn something new every day... :sunny:
An interesting fact regarding most animals and mirrors is that the animals will not recognize themselves in the mirror or even think it is another animal in the mirror.
I think sound is easier for most animals to recognize. I once had a cat that would glance up at the television whenever there was another cat meowing for something to eat (as in a commercial). QP
My axolotl image seems to swim away, unless I'm signed in. Or else it's my computer. Now I'm totally confused. QP
Animals go on smell, then sound, usually. They don't recognise a mirror because they can smell nothing, hear nothing and feel nothing. Then again, my dad gets birds that attack their reflection in his window, so what would I know.....
Rather a lot (I'd say). :sunny: I totally forgot about smell. Yeah, that's a big one in the animal kingdom. QP
Cat's hearing is far superior than human's, and their sense of smell is also far superior. Lots of cats react to their own reflections too...
I totally agree. But there seems to be 2 camps. 1. Cats are dumb and evil. 2. Dogs are man's best friend. Is there no middle ground? QP
