Monsanto will be put on trial for crimes against humanity and the environment in Hague, Netherlands this October!

The company that plagued the world with harmful genetically modified crops and other toxic products may finally be brought to justice.

This is such great news if everything falls into place! I would also like to have other companies like Monsanto be thrown into the trial as well like Dow Agriculture. I wonder if Obama's Protect Monnsanto Act will try to combat this one.

Edit: I'm not sure why the links ain't working... Just C&P them in the search bar

That's how I feel a lot of the time. They're too powerful of a corrupt corporation to be defeated unfortunately. They're embedded in our government.

The only way to defeat a government protected Monsanto is to vote with your wallet. Every time you buy groceries, ask the manager where the non-GMO food aisle is located. They usually don't have one but if enough people make it known that this is where you'd like to spend your money, it makes a difference.

There is a great deal more that one can do to combat them but it isn't likely that city folk would have the knowledge or impetus to do something like save heritage seeds in their freezers. I've had long talks with neighbors about the dangers of using chems like Monsanto's Roundup and the dangers of ANY corporation owning the patent rights to the food supply but it usually gets me the 'glazed eyes' stare.

City people try to do better and often create a bee-friendly area in their backyard but they'll use flowers they buy at the big chains and all of those have been sprayed with systemic pesticide that becomes part of the plant and is impossible to wash off. So.. while Monsanto slaughters bees with Roundup and other chems... even caring city folk unknowingly kill them with poisonous flowers. All the major outlets that sell potted flowers buy them from the same three big growers who spray them with neonictinoids, a systemic pesticide.

When the bees finally go.. so do we. Monsanto doesn't care because all of their GMO crops are wind pollinated and don't depend on bees. So.. yeah... humans will be able to eat GMO corn and corn fed animals but fruits?? Almost all of the fruit that you consume had help from bees and other pollinators.

I read a few months ago that Monsanto has even applied for a marijuana patent in another country. They want to own the rights to that lifeform, too... so they already have that in place when the rest of the country finally legalizes herbage.

I'm also curious what a conviction/judgement at the Hauge means for a company day to day.

    Well, of course.
I guess I'm wondering what power the international court has in this instance.

Oh actually after reading the article, it sounds like monsanto will finally actually be on trial for its crimes. The US justice system is a joke, They were in the supreme Court 2013 and nothing even happened.

But I guess Monsanto products are actually banned from most of europe, so by being held in the international court in hauge, netherlands will likely hold a humanitarian approach to stopping what's possibly the most evil corporation on this planet. (Which means quite a lot)

(And I edited your post so the links show. You just needed the "http://" prefix)

This is very hard. Monsanto basically has a monopoly on the industry

Most farmers are bullied into buying their products. Even organic farmers will sometimes have to feed their livestock Monsanto feed, and so to actually trace back your food to where the seeds comes from can take weeks. I was reading about someone doing just that to show how hard it was to get around them.

This isn't a personal issue like it is with most coporations (Where you can, as you suggested, simply not buy from them). This is a true humanitarian issue that needs to be solved immediatly

Lets hope if it successfully influences opinion in the U.S. that Nestle will be next.
and lets hope they find them criminally liable and maybe it will become more than just a "show" trial.

I totally agree, Sleeping Cat. And.. I save, use and grow heritage plants, for my part. I have a small organic farm and I'm well aware of the problems we face. I had to hand pollinate apple and pear trees this year because the bee population was soo decimated and we use zero chems here.

I simply don't know how the average person can fight government protected Monsanto other than putting market pressure on them. BOTH political parties are in bed with Monsanto. Hillary has already hired a Monsanto exec for her campaign.

Does any buddy actually read stuff before they post something or respond?

    First paragraph on link #1
"The Organic Consumers Association (OCA), IFOAM International Organics, Navdanya, Regeneration International (RI), and Millions Against Monsanto, joined by dozens of global food, farming and environmental justice groups announced today that they will put Monsanto MON (NYSE), a US-based transnational corporation,

on mock trial for crimes against nature and humanity

, and ecocide, in The Hague, Netherlands, next year on World Food Day, October 16, 2016."

It says "mock trial" mock as in not real. Put on by organizations. not a real court.

Oh and "demonize creators of Genetically Modified Organisms"
don't think trust the corporation. They have your best interest at heart

And the usual b.s. about it being no different from breeding

The sooner the better. What a lot of people don't realize is that Monsanto pays a lot for their reputation management. If you check any of their their social sites you'll see that the answers from them concerning accusations of the health consequences associated with GMO's are heavily scripted. They pay people to lie and that their products increase product yield and aren't harmful to humans. It's complete bullocks! Google "Agenda 21". Depopulation is the root cause of Monsanto. They know that they're products cause tumors and cancer, but why would they care if them and they're families aren't eating it. I try not to dive too far into conspiracy theories but even if 10% of what Alex Jones says about Agenda 21 and depopulation is true, Monsanto needs to pay for their crimes against nature.
