The quote that I cut and pasted directly above this sentence is yours. You let Molly know that she was still welcome here. I thought it funny that you thought we cared who you feel is welcome and who is not. It was a joke.

Sounds to me like you are upset that we all knew who Molly was (including me the newbie), and yet you were duped. Couldn't you see the sarcasm oosing from her posts?

Also, 2 or 3 (at least) of your posts rubbed me as a little pompous or kind of know-it-all. Usually these posts start w/ something like "Well I was in San Fransisco in '69...yada yada".

Without actually speaking to someone it's hard to know what they actually meant. I can't hear the sarcasm in their voice. I can't see their body language. I have no context, if you will. My point is that I actually doubt that you are pompous, but some of your posts read that way.

Peace and love brother. It aint like it used to be but, it's still worth the effort.

yeah, i agree. But in this day in age, with people pretending to be kids for really sick reasons.....we have a huge problem with online pedophiles....I dont think molly is one, just trying to have fun, but there is a sickness out there.

 

yeah i totally know, but how do we over come it?
should we live in fear and cynicism that every person online is out to get us?
there are alot of evil things in this world but we shouldn't dewell on them, think of all the positives out there too
one of the ways to get rid of the sickness out there as you say is to not feed it, we give it power through our fear
there is a difference between being careful and vigalant and living in fear and paranoia

I couldn't agree with you more about not being slaves to fear....we here are old enough and wise enough to know better....but there are so many who aren't.
The thing is, we really dont know who we all are behind these screens, and we have a lot of trusting people here. I like to believe that who I am communicating with on here would be the same in person...it's like pen-pals. We share opinions and viewpoints, and I think its great we can do these things here. I guess some people dont like to be played a fool, ya know? To think you are adressing someone who isnt who they are. Not just with Molly(who I think you are great....I kinda knew you weren't who you looked like!) but just in any circumstance.

 

so what exactly is the problem? Does it matter if Molly is really male or female, old or young? So Molly ain't their real name....well squawkers ain't on my driver's license either, big deal.

Fact is Molly used to give me a laugh, ....even when we would get on some debate box about dumb stuff. I ain't read much of Molly's stuff lately till tonight when I was trying to figure out what everyone's problem was AND I STILL DON"T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.

 

The problem is, the truth is not respected here.

Apparently the majority here, thinks, its just fun and games, and business as usual.

so what exactly did Molly lie about? Looking thru Molly's post list I noticed that Molly referred to a wife a couple times and even mentioned that they were the old moderator "chief". I didn't read much of chief's stuff before but I read more of Molly's.
so whichever name gets me to read stuff is fine with me.
