moe. summercamp in IL

yeah i'd have to agree w/ ya. my friend saw people ripping open the dead guy's tent and jolting him with the defribillator. I dont want to be at a festival where that shit is infront of my face. I noticed a big change between last year's fest and this years. there was a lot more uncouncious ass holes. this festival was not that great for me- i got stollen from, lied to, and had to camp next to fucked up white trash. I think a lot of it has to do with the increase in advertising for the fest. Besides that, moe was dope sunday night as well as franti, hot buttered rum, and hackensaw boys.

 

Moe.. I know what you mean... A friend of mine was murdered at Camp Creek 2003. It was a blow to us all.... There were only about 3000 people there and still bad things happen.. I was so hard for us to think about going back last year... But for Keith's sake we did... He would have wanted us to... We saw life star 2 times that weekend.. Once for Keith and once when a security guard was run over but an impatience person waiting to get in the gates... Everyone keep having a good time... But most people do care... In any situation people are going to ruin stuff... People go for the wrong reasons to lots of things... theres no stopping it.. you just got to do your best to keep going and try to make people see whay they should be there..

 

its ok , i know exactly where your commin from with the bad vibes and all that. although i did meet a good amount of truely awesome folks i did meet alot of mean people (only there to get fucked up). no1 died although there were two close calls one the herowin od and the other kid almost choked on his vomit but luckily everyone survived. the music at this festie was great but i saw alot of greed and other negitive things. one of my friends ended up being arrested for selling doses, and he'll be there for awhile because some of the kids he had sold to were minors

 

And Max Creek was horrified by what happened that year.. They were great to all of Keiths friends.. They showed up at his funeral to pay their respect to their fan...

 

oh, man I really dug Franti. That show was so uplifting!! It really inspired me. It seemed like he really cared about the world and his fans.

 

Its sad when such a good idea gets fucked up by fake people who are only there for the drugs and money...

 

I was pretty close up front chuck side all three nights...so didnt know anything about anyone getting hurt until just now reading on this message board. As far as fests go, I have noticed at both moe. fests (moe. up, and moe. down) there is alot more sketch factor then there is at a regular moe. show, and thats because you have so many people there who just go there to make $, and get fuc*ed up.

Anyways, thats too bad that there is such shady stuff going on at alot of these fests. I actually did hear from abunch of my friends who were working, that alot of people were getting busted by undercovers for selling sh1t.

I think the underlying problem is too many people are going to these things for the wrong reasons, so you have people who dont really know whats up doing too much of some drugs they cant really handle, and then it just causes problems for everyone, because security is upped, and more enforced.

 

I am sorry to hear that soo many of you had such a bad time though...

 

Yeah, it was a downer as soon as that abulance came in rollin with its lights on, i mean the people there were just not cool, i mean i got some good vibes from alot of people, but also there were alot of assholes there just for the drugs, and not the music, and what do ya get out of that a heroin overdose, there was so much shit, more people need to go for the music and just keep it cool.

Jeanne--Of course I am coming to Portland next weekend...despite the fact I am close to broke, and I dunno how the rent is going to get paid this month, I am not missing portland, haha.

I ordered my tickets just before summercamp, so should be good to go...

If you have not ordered tickets though, according to their box office they are going quickly, and will probably sell out week of show...so get them soon

I saw Beth this weekend too...we were both bummed that you could not make it. So, you better find a way to make it to portland!

 

I heard the nitrous..i camped in the rv section right along the road and the guys across from me were the ones w/ the tank..they took off in the middle of the night and left their tent..they were assholes....i hate that stuff.....

and bad stuff always goes on at fests....people go for the drugs it's ashame yes..but.......that's all i have to say...i don't wanna piss people off..

i can tell u what after that show i am never going to a fest again..i guess i've grown out of it...
