when i saw them on the fall tour they were on point - awesome jams; the songs linked. i don't what may have changed. this was right before Al had tendonitis. but i haven't seen them on this go 'round.
I saw MOE. open up for the Allman Brothers in Atlanta in place of Lynard Skynard(sp?) (thank god) I'd never seen MOE. before but was very happy to see them then. They weren't that great to me but I have have friends that live by them.
I was there! Oct 1 at hifi buys. I remember it. I liked them. I was also super soked when I found out we wouldnt hve to listen to lynrd skynard, instead we'd get a stictly jam show . The allman Bros are ind of fickle. I've seen them around 6 or 7 times and it seems like they're either really really on or they're just not. I've only seen them twice when they we're off but man when they're on....they're really worth your $$
seen moe. a buncha times, going to see them tonight infact. I don't think they have shortened up sets or jams. Everytime i see them theres always a few 30+ minute jams and usually good transitions. My only real critique is that they tend to repeat the same riffs when jamming, gets boring after a little.
I don't get out to too many shows these days, but I'll make the exception for moe., they are an amazing presence live! Unfortunately, they've gotten so damned popular it's tough to catch them lately, now that they're touring all over. I miss the smaller venues of a few years back, but I plan to make snoe.down in Lake Placid a permanent entry on my calendar each year. I guess they might repeat the same riffs if you see them a lot, but I'm always blown away at how they can take the same tune, and do something different with it each time.
