From what i've been hearing and reading Vinyl is making a come back.. because 1) its recyclable.. can be melted down and repressed.. 2) cheap.. 3) i guess a lot of companies that still produce records now insert a SDcard with the digital format of the album so you can add it to your digital library

You are old school.. i run films [avi recodes]
in a stack through my 2000 pixel res 26 inch PC monitor
Watching movies on TV screens is loosing 1/2 of the clarity
My PC vid card costs more than your TV.

Because it gives megapixels above your crappy TV resolution

I play crysis in 3 times the resolution on game comsoles/// lol...
Most use consoles cause they are pc illiterate.
This is a reflection of their real lives

    LOL

Hard to imagine how far portable music has come. The cassette walkman is pretty old when you think about, definitely an 80's toy. Everyone in the 90's had portable CD players, and those who still did have cassette walkmans they had got them down small enough to where they were barely bigger than the cassette.

As for the kid in the OP, it's no surprise he got strange looks. I mean would you look at someone using a normal portable CD player or walkman, no probably not. But would you look at someone using one of the giant brick ones from the early 80's, yeah you would.

I might be silly and naive.. I look to walkmans and what not for a sense of nostalgia it takes me to a different place I totally rock a walkman from time to time and I really dont think the sound is greater than an ipod/mp3 player?

thats pretty sweet, but if you paid more for a radeon 58xx than Dude111's tv is worth, then I think you may have grossly overpaid. But I dont know what kind of tv we're talking about here.

That kids well spoken for such an ignorant, arrogant little shit. Bet his parents made him do that to try to fix him.... Well they need to try moar....

I disagree, you won't see better quality, really.... Even for a real audiophile. There are better choices than an iPod, according to many proper audiophiles, but not exactly a walkman. There is, however, a different sound with a tape...

If I had tapes, and a well functioning walkman, I'd rock that shit...

I wonder if I could find a full sized tape player for my computer, that would be easy to set up in linux.... My iPod touch is great at some things, but I can't even get iOS4, because apple locked me out of my iMac, I'd have to buy an upgrade to use my iPod with my computer, even though I bought it for that specific system. And this rapes its functionality, because I can't do anythign with apps, or even restore it, without losing my apps.

*edit* I guess I'm a spoiled little shit too, my dad always told me it was lucky that casetes and recorders existed at all because of the RIAA trying to kill them, in response to my bitching about their modern day nazi activities.... No, they where hardcore nazis from the beginning, reading wikipedia... And figures that there would be no way to record to tape from a modern computer a line in recorder... I have DAT, but that's worthless for me...
