I think that when you're looking at arrest statistics you need to read into it a little bit farther than the race of the perpetrator. The arrestees are often from low income backgrounds. Disadvantaged lives. They live in a dilapidated environment. They don't have the same opportunities for education. And as we have mentioned, they feel like they are rejected by the larger society because of their race. For what?!

 

How long do we have to deal with white hatred and the infection it spreads? Try counting on your hands all the wars started by any other race. There is something wrong with white people.

 

We don't need life lessons from you. I hope you know that. Thank you for your insights, but I don't appreciate the attitude.

 

I have been poor all of my life and I am still pretty poor to this day and yet I don't commit crimes. You're not making a good argument.

I think that war is a different animal entirely. But people of color are fighting a war of sorts. One against racial prejudice.

White people really do think they're the best. They can't fathom any notion that they're anything less than beautiful and perfect. I'm just being honest. And if you've got a problem with that, I'll just let the so called hate crimes do the talking.

You're living in an alternate reality if you think that people of color have a fair shake. Many, like you yourself, have a negatively slanted opinion of people who are different than them. It's not just African-Americans. It's Latinos Asians Native Americans - you name it. We cannot stand by and allow those good people to be discredited and demerited. Again, for what?! There's no explanation that I find acceptable for turning your back on such a vibrant outstanding segment of society. Their potential is unrivaled. You acknowledged that there are programs that provide them opportunities. I think that's a step in the right direction. Grades aren't everything when it comes to achieving an education. Of course you should study. But studying to learn is a whole different thing.

 

I live in the correct reality and it's you who does not understand how things work.
It's not a step in the right direction when they are not qualified for the schools nor the jobs. The best person should get the job or get into the best schools based on their grades and skills.

The reason that black people get to take pride in being black is because most African Americans can't trace their heritage back to where their ancestors came from, on account of being kidnapped and enslaved.

White people can point to their heritage and be proud of their English, French, Dutch, etc heritage.

That's the difference.

 

You do realize that every race of people has been enslaved, correct? Blacks were slaves to their own people and then they sold them to other racial or religious slave owners. Whites were slaves during the Barbary slave trade.

Black people and other races can trace their heritage with Ancestry.com and 23andme.com

 

There are no such laws in place, so the law isn't the source of the problem. Probably makes more sense to look at it from that perspective. Going after the laws will be fruitless since there are no race-specific statutes.

Also, every case in court is different. I avoid court at all costs because the moment a judge sees my list of priors, I'm fucked. And it has nothing to do with my color or "privilege". It's because that is how courts make money, by slapping fines on people who can't defend themselves. If anything harassing white people is much easier since they can't readily play any racial cards on the issue.

Body cameras on cops have exposed a LOT of racial claims as being absolute lies. So I am less inclined to see it as a problem with the law than a problem with the way some folks react to laws in general.

 

By whose approval is this claim made? And does it imply that non-black people have no rights to racial pride?

I'm a sociology major @CloudyMushroom. I have studied it as well. And I know for a fact that these disadvantages (in the areas of academia and the workforce) play a role in the lives of minorities and people of color.
