People used to come here and not knottylocks for a reason. That reason is no longer valid.

I wish this post could be directed to the entire Hipforums board.
Seems like some folk make a game of harrassing new posters just to see if they can make them leave , like its some kind of hazing ritual.
Yall here on the dready forum rock. :)

KL is a different community with a very different (though hilarious) vibe. This place was always more thoughtful, nice, and pansy-like (dare I say hippyish) and more welcoming to newbs. I personally prefer the vibe on KL, they make me LOL everytime but that doesn't stop me from posting here.
When newbs would get (rightfully though sometimes not) bashed on KL they often came here where their questions were greeted with much less hostile, and sarcastic responses.

People who mock new people should consider why they do it and what it says about how they judge others.

I just think it's pretty lame to treat anyone differently just because they're new to a forum or asking questions that seem obvious to you. Grow up... we're all hippies.

i think most people on here that are sarcastic with the newbs need to spend a little time away from the forum if repeat topics annoy your stupid asses that much.

I'm with you on this one.. I mean I used to be part of a vegetarian forum for a little over 4 years. I haven't posted there in awhile because I went back and forth between veg/non-veg, but anyway, my point is that some of the people who were members of that forum for years acted the same way towards new posters. Can you imagine how many new threads had the same questions, like "how do I get enough protein?" and "Can I build muscle on a veg diet?" and "What do I do about Thanksgiving dinner with my family?!"

And the community there was the same as the one here, as well as other forums I've been a part of. You always have the posters who have been around long enough to see the board evolve, membership grow, and cliques and culture develop, and of course repeat threads. Some of them are genuinely awesome and kind and helpful to new posters. Some of them for whatever reason are not.

 maybe it's just the internet but how you act towards people on here shows something about yourself whether you like it or not, everybody.

i love noobs i love noob questions and i love hnelping noobs .. i have mocked 1 or 2 who just were sooooooo clueless (the 1 who insisted on defending a loctition who used "hair glue" to glue his dreads together and that 1 fool that insistred wax was so great then finaly saw the light removed all the wax but then still went around dragging up everyones threads and saying how bad theyre dreads looked..in rare cases mockeryy is the last tool ya havce to try to get the point across to the incredibly dense and dumb.. but..it should be the last resort when guidance and kindness fails..
too manyt people look atr the forums as mindless entertntainment, not a chance to share wisdom or to guide others along theyre journeys but as a simple way to get stupid lol's from mocking others

its just the internet is one of the most hurtful statements of all
what the fucks that m,ean? what is the internet anyway? technicaly a interconnected web of computerts

but are these computers independentrly expressing opinions? or are you a person behind a keyboard typing your thoughts?
do you concider the other peoples thoughts expressed here as beingf the thoughts of living people with feelings or are they just mindles constructs of unsweenh computyers so your mockery affects no l,iving beings?

the intertnewt is really a collectiuon of intertwined emotional beings..humanbs brothers and sisters freinds and families
just because you cannot see theytre eyesw does not mean you cannot cause tears

nextr timne you start to type its just the internet think about what that really means.. milions and millions of actual people you may be offending with every words you say
\so when you come here using this as a playground ..a place where you can be as much of an asshole as ysa want.. remember your not only being an asshole to a few computers but also to millions of people in the world..how does it really feel to have millions thining what an asshole that guy is?

congrats your mockery has really made a namefor yourself worldwide.. its not so funny when you realize just how many people can potentialy be labeling you anb asshole for every dumb lil joke you think is so funny

why is it so damn hard to try to be nice?
