For me, the whole issue is turned on it's head, as white folks here ARE the minority. Depending on the location, when you show up barefoot, you're either accepted because it's the norm or you're discounted as another crazy falong/haolie...

    Thankies!

If you want to see black peeps getting really upset with barefoot, come to one of my family get togethers. Talk about the hate. They got over the white man thing, but the barefeet is like "Omg! We moved up in the world! We're not slaves anymore!'
But they are slaves in a way...

I don't know why black people equate bare feet with slavery. They went barefoot in Africa and still do, because those people live off the land and have no need for shoes or Western fashions. I look at bare feet as a sort of primitive thing. "Primitive" in a good way, meaning we should all learn a thing or two from Native Tribes, we just may end up saving the Earth.

Sometimes it amazes me to think it's 2010 and there are people like you and me who go around with bare feet, just like they did 10,000 years ago...lol

One day a girl at school gave me a positive comment in class. She told me that she was just fascinated when she looks at my bare feet in class. She said she loves seeing a pair of bare soles in a room full of shoes because it just looks so primitive (in a good way). That got me to thinking that here we are 10,000 years of advancement since the cave people and still some of us walk the Earth with our bare feet. The more things change, the more they stay the same...lol

That's a really nice compliment coming from a girl, we definately need more females like her.
