LMPD Det. Brett Hankison fired for misconduct during Breonna Taylor shooting

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced Friday that Chief Rob Schroeder has initiated termination proceedings for Det. Brett Hankison. Hankison is one of three officers involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor in March.

The letter says he violated two standard operating procedures: obedience to rules and regulations and use of deadly force.

"Based upon my review, these are extreme violations to our policies. I find your conduct a shock to the conscience," Schroeder writes in the memorandum.

He said Hankison showed indifference to the value of human life when he fired 10 rounds into Taylor's apartment, which went into a patio door and window that were covered, preventing him from verifying there was an immediate threat.

Schroeder also writes that Hankison was reckless as rounds went into a neighbors apartment.

 

In an interesting twist Melissa Rolfe, the mother of Atlanta Police Officer Garrett Rolfe, who shot Brooks was terminated from her job at Equity Prime Mortgage


Guess she was kinda pissed off and made it known on social media.

 

Alternatively, you could have just as easily answered those unanswerable questions by now

1. Whose fault is it when a black man kills another black man? What Denzel says, it's culture not race. You wouldn't have any more clue about growing up in the shittier neighbourhoods of Chicago than I would

2. What exactly do they want? She is right about asking 10 people and getting 10 different answers

3. Why were the protests more important than covid risks?

A protest 20,000 strong even half African American in a state of 40 million people, 5 million being African American at least.....still makes it 99.8% of African Americans in that state that don't bother turning up to that protest

....because they are staying at home to watch Jeopardy, work to get ahead, don't like taking handouts, don't have criminal records and aren't silly enough to know cops pull you over, you don't resist arrest. It all ain't got nothing to do with them

I think it's important. But at this point it's been highly publicized.

To reiterate though, it is awful and unacceptable for police to brutally murder - kneel on the necks of lawbreakers - George Floyd. Because it has been endlessly and tirelessly covered by the media, people don't want to be dim, rude, or offensive by repeating what has clearly already been said over a dozen times.

But Black lives do matter! Without a doubt! And further, it doesn't go without saying - you sort of have to say it, because otherwise the message isn't universal, and for some it goes unheard.

How many black people have died in Africa of hunger, Malaria and water born diseases since may 26th

Its almost a month, It would be around the 40,000 mark

 

I agree. It's a tragedy there too! But doesn't that suggest that we miss the point? Police brutality is perhaps more avoidable...

I think @Vanilla Gorilla knows exactly what he sounds like to us, but he doesn't want to conform or something. Is it truly trolling? I don't know...

 

I've seen arguments on both sides when it comes to the topic of no knock warrants. Some say the no knock prevents suspects from destroying evidence and on the other side of the coin it has been pointed out more cases of mistaken identity happens that way. Personally I think they should go back to paper warrants. Or better yet focus on serious crimes instead of harassing and intemidating the general population.

 

They could do cell phone warrants... Just text you.

 

So what are you trying to say? The scenes depicted are of mob action. Mobs are notoriously not "Pais-ful". To cherry pick a few early incidents as a means to paint "the left" as violent is transparent propaganda.
