I'd like to point of a couple of things. This is NOT in defense of the three other officers btw. One was black and one was asian. Yeah I know that doesn't mean crap but just throwing it out there. Floyd and chauvin was not strangers. They knew each other from working at a nightclub and often "butted heads". Cincinnati city council is voting on the motion to charge peaceful protesters. That's messed up big time. It's not a matter of if but a matter of when all this is going to reignite protests. This time we may have a full scale war. Giving the police surplus military equipment was dumb in the first place in my opinion.

 

I agree i think at this point war is almost inevitable. There is to much division in our country. This has long been brewing though and it ist just about racism or some bad cops that is just the tip of the iceberg.

 

Are you talking 'civil war' or war in general, and if the latter, with whom ???

 

civil war mostly but it may be the scariest one in history as there is so much division no one will know who is friend or foe.
but we are also doing a good job in pissing places like china so if we keep that up we could end up in wwIII

The street light cameras are just a fancy motion detectors to control the light cycle. Unless its one of those globe things.

They put them up in my town and I called the city and made a fake complaint that it was pointed towards my house and that is what I was told.

I said what the hell is this it points right at my house and addressed it as a privacy issue. I asked who watches it and is it recorded and said I was going to sue.

The traffic engineer I had on the phone was kinda cool. He laughed when I pointed out since the invention of fuel injection accelerating slowly from a red light does not "save gas" stupid myth left over from the 1970s gas crisis and 4 barrel carburetors.

All these dumb asses accelerating extra stupid slow on a green light are actually wasting fuel because the engine is not in its efficiency zone. 70-80% of max power.

The reason a 4 cylinder gets better mileage then an 8 cylinder is not the 4 fewer cylinders, its because its working harder and closer to its maximum output and its the efficiency zone more often.

I hate that myth "accelerate slowly to save gas" the 1970s are over.

If I fill my bathtub slowly will I save water ???

Not every cop uses excessive force in arresting a subject just like not every cop is on the take. Yes there are some and it seems like nearly every news story is about a senseless shooting. I think sometimes the media is just as at fault. I don't agree with defunding departments and I don't agree with the choke hold type restraints. If the suspect is already subdued and cuffed then he or she isn't resisting. No need for a knee in the back or on the carotid artery. That's just begging for trouble and making the situation worse. There are going to be bad cops everywhere which is unfortunat. The vetting process really should be overhauled. Without saying any names there were a few guys in my department who would joke about blacks or hispanics and how the cuffing techniques for them differed from the ones used with whites. It wasn't funny then and it isn't funny now.

I wonder how much Al Sharpton charged the family of George Floyd to speak at the funeral.

 

Yeah, George Floyd may‘ve been intoxicated when arrested, and have a lengthy criminal history of theft, aggravated robbery, abuse, criminal trespassing, and assault on women. But he was really a nice guy.

As for Biden at least he had the guts to meet with the family, Over the phone Trump wouldn't even allow Georghe Floyd's brother to speak.
