Minneapolis Police Choke Handcuffed Man to Death

There are always going to be racial incidents between minorities and law enforcement. There is no getting around this. Former officer Derek Chauvin has now been charged with second degree murder. This was upgraded from 3rd degree and manslaughter. The other officers were charged with aiding and abetting. I get the anger and the outrage. Police brutality and misconduct has always been a problem and sadly it will not go away. It's the same old shit only with different names. There is a way to be revolutionary and get your point across without resorting to looting and vandalism. My former sergeant from '94 always told me you can't let yourself get wrapped up in the situation and let emotions boil over. From the Rampart controversy to the very sad death of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, etc sometimes common sense fly out the window. Apologies if I don't make sense, rambling, or disjointed it is b/c I have been drinking.

 

I wonder...might this be the beginning of more people with credibility and influence finally, at long last, coming together and speaking out against the fool that is our president.

When people literally around the world are protesting in sympathy over this situation, this damn murder of unarmed black men by police officers... that certainly tells me they not only "see" the situation but are acknowledging the lack of coordinated effort (from the "top") to stop this violence.

Given the chance, people will (usually) reach the point at which they will say no more...when wrong is being done to themselves or fellow humans..

 

The house has passed over 400 bills concerning the environment and other important issues-----they languish on Turtle boys desk over in the senate. Let's do say NO MORE to the child as "president "and those that make his asinine antics possible.

 

I suspect it will take much more this time around then simply relying on men of good will.

Trump and his republican cronies are desperate to remain in power, and will do literally anything to ensure victory, but how far will they go remains an open question.

Trump is already losing it, and if the polls continue to favor Biden, he could have a complete breakdown.

 

Surely his handlers will keep him medicated. I hope they do!

He isn't able to give a coherent public speech when he is on top of the world. I can't imagine what mishmash of words and phrases he will toss together when he accepts he really doesn't have control of this (or any other) situation in the public's eye.
