I am sure there are some sketchy teachers out there. I don't doubt that for a second. But learning is so subjective. So to say that all/most teachers are subconsciously using mind control is a hard pill to swallow for me, since one is limited to their own experiences. After all everyone has a different opinion on their school years. Even if you were unlucky enough to go through a shitty school, you likely had at least a few good teachers. I work with 3-5 years olds and creativity is stressed for sure. They don't seem scared at all like someone stated. In fact, the way they say things in a matter of fact way is so cute sometimes. If only you could see these kids, they are the opposite of intimidated. They will walk right up to us (teachers) and tell us what's up without a second thought, no timid behavior there! Now maybe I am lucky to have a good group of kids (20) or maybe its pretty common to find what I describe. If anything, I find that I am the more timid one when first meeting a new child in the class. As a teacher you never want to scare the kid. What I worry about are the few kids that slip through the cracks and are medicated into "mental wellness". Mental wellness again being subjective. I think its crazy that there is a parent of a child in my class that feels the need to medicate a four year old. Luckily there is only once case of that so far. But I am more worried about peoples/KIDS (!!) dependence on medication/drugs. Now thats the real mind fuck. I believe that a change in environment is needed. The one kid who has "problems" also happens to not be with his parents or in a stable home environment.
So basically what you’re saying are the greedy pharmaceutical companies (in cooperation with educators) are conspiring to turn our schools into the ultimate prescription drug friendly environment Hotwater
I didn't say teachers used mind control 'subconsciously'. That would indicate a subconscious wish to brainwash the children, which I don't believe any (or very few) teachers have. It's more a matter of passing on a worldview that keeps them imprisoned throughout their whole lives. And as for your group, it sounds like a nice place to send your kids, and I don't necessarily think it plays much of a role in this. But 3-5 is about the last stages of freedom before they enter the school system, where everything I've discussed really kicks in. I stress again, this man does not represent us.
True but his naive picture of the world does offer a challenge for those of us who truly believe everything isn't as it appears. Hotwater
where do you come off stating I am naive? Based on what exactly? I call em like I see em' and am open to others experiences, like I have stated.
I think there may be some confusion here. For my part, I was calling hotwater an idiot. I'm not sure if he might have taken it wrong.
You're a moron, and this board definately doesn't need any more of those. Your bullshit would be better off in the Paranoid forum, so why don't you haul your sorry ass over there?
