Mike Huckabee in All His Glory

what a fucking crazy asshole... his followers are crazy too... crazy christian fundies.

 

Why is Huckabee even in this race? B/c he's giving the evangelist, neocons what they want- more power! It has been clear from the Bush years that it was the Right wing, born again Christians who have put and kept Bush in power. Now, this base of Republican support doesn't have an ideal candidate, McCain is too secular, Romney is that "evil Mormon," Rudy is pro-gay rights so obviously they can't support him- that's when Huckabee stepped in. The scary part is that he won Iowa and came in close second to McCain in SC last Saturday. I think this illustrates the power of the far right- out of touch w/ reality as we "seculars" (b/c anyone who doesn't agree with them are obviously godless heathens) see it.

BTW, read this book: "A Divider, Not a Uniter: George W. Bush and the American People" by Gary C. Jacobson. Unbiased coverage of the Bush presidency and it points out the reality that Republicans and Democrats see, even if the two are polar opposites.
