Mine is about a year old and it is stainless steel. We use it a lot as the kids between school and sports are on different schedules at times and this way they heat up real food and eat better. I make meals all the time and they heat up those. I often steam veggies in the microwave as they come out far more appealing than doing them on the stove top. It is also easier to have them more on the firm side than droopy from being in water. I rather dislike soggy veggies.
No more than 40% power, to allow time for the heat to flow gently throughout the meat. Also, if you want to try it in a stew or gumbo, entrées with a high liquid content cook more evenly in a microwave. Everything is faster in the microwave world.
does ne one believe the notion that ur microwave is actually bad for u health. like microwaving ur food is essentially killing u?

well, im not sayin i have a definitive answer. but the video has some interesting points. u really dont have 10 minutes of spare time??
That's ok, I'm just interested why you think I should watch out for it. Do you not have the time to tell me in a few sentences in your own words?
There was no small desire to do that in the first place so carry on and enlighten me with your opinion!
i think it eliminated the food value of wut ev ur eating. the us army did a test, and they fed them microwaved food, and after 3 days they were vomiting, had nausea, and headaches. i know its not very detailed but, it gives food to thought.
This happened to our microwave at work! In the picture in the OP I'm defrosting chicken Hoppipolla syndrome. Did you only watch the first two minutes of the video?? He mentions the microwave in the first 2 minutes, once several minutes later, and closes with the same vague statement. no data backing things up. hardly even talks about it. You should switch doctors. I'm sure the army story he mentions is a lot more complex than "they ate microwaved food for threes days and they all got sick"... that doesn't happen to anyone I know. If you start living off of TV dinners, then yeah, prepare to feel like shit. You can't just recreate food like that and replace it for real nutrients. But otherwise it's not such a bad tool. The doc even says it himself- no harm every one in a while.
