I write proprietary shit for clients. I guess I'm going to have to work on a dedicated unit that stays disconnected from the web and use another for email, hip forums and porn. OR it's time to get off my ass and learn Linux.
You don't really have to learn Linux. Using command lines may be useful, but it's not necessary. Perfectly fine to use Linux with a desktop environment, completely intuitive if you are familiar with windows. It's mostly a matter of picking your flavor of linux and then installing it. You can even use a live version that boots from cd/dvd.
I'd already read rumors about this problem of Windows 10 and this is one of the reasons because I've decided not to upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, even if my notebooks offers that free...
Thanks for posting that Dude, I'd never even bothered to check my Windows 10 privacy settings, but I've now turned pretty much everything off thanks to you hehe. I like how the default "Full" tracking option is "recommended" - yeah by them, so they can have a free-for-all on your privacy! Cunts. The article does say that if you have Windows 10 Professional or Enterprise you'll be able to turn all tracking off. I might upgrade to Pro at some point for that reason, though mostly I use Linux these days anyway.
Bill Gates spying on us....LOL Gates hasn't had anything to do with MS for years now, and I'm pretty confidant he has done a helluva lot more than you or most in altruistic endeavors. How many millions of mosquito nets have you bought?
