Here in Georgia, we get a lot of "half backs".
Yankees move to Florida to escape the cold winters only to discover that Florida is unbearably hot and humid for about four or five months. So, they move to Georgia where the heat and humidity is not as bad, not as long, but winters are mild.
We didn't even get snow this winter and the flowers were blooming again in February.

Bal Harbour. 1.5 miles from Haulover Beach. Came here from S. Texas and found paradise. Will never leave.

I’m not too far from you, Paty! I’m in South Beach! Glad you found a true home here! I doubt I’ll ever leave either.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages. My South Beach is still the most beautiful and liveliest beach in all of Florida tho. Also Haulover says “HI.”

I'm terrified of the winds! The breakbeats are a big draw though. Long live funky Florida breaks! :D

I grew up in Hawaii, where Florida is considered the largest sandbar in the world, complete with gators, anacondas, mosquitos, and sandflies, which are considered exotic by Hawaiian standards because they don't have swamps. Honolulu is as close as they get.

hawaii is great for its lack of evil wildlifes, but it is where i have had the greatest number of mosquitoes on my body at one time.

Bugs have always ruled the tropics. Ask any top of the food chain predator.
