My methadone treatment was prescribed 10mg x every 6 hours during the first 2 weeks. Ended up being too much so I cut it back on my own to every 12. I realized then I could go almost 2 days without dosing so really I tapered off a bit longer than my doctors originally planned. I had a week's supply which turned into about 2 weeks worth. The way mine was handled now that I look at it and compare with other people, seems very odd. Not just this...there was a lot I didn't agree with or think was the right thing to do. :toetap05:
Taken from Erowid. Usually when you take a drug test for a job, the paper you bring tells you what type of test you will be taking, and if Methadone is included.
That is interesting. Never heard of Methadone treatment doing doses like that. You have to go to the clinic to pick up your dose, unless you have been there long enough with no bad marks, and you receive take home doses. So did you have to go to your clinic every 6 hours? Did they give you take home pills? That is very odd, because I haven't even heard of a Methadone Clinic that uses pills, they all use liquid that I have came across. 10mg every 6 hours was too much? You must have hardly had a habit, because most places I called start you out at LEAST 30mg at once. Why did you go to Methadone treatment to begin with? No offense, just with the way it affected you, it doesn't sound like you were in too bad of shape if that little amount of Methadone was too much. Anyways, it is very weird they dosed you every 6 hours as well. Methadone has an extremely long half life like I said before, anywhere from 12-72 hours from what I have gathered. Shit it takes around 2 hours before the Methadone is even completely absorbed and you get the full effect. To re-dose in 6 hours just sounds pointless, especially considering Methadone's "high" lasts around 12-14 hours.
