yeah I like metal...... favourite bands in this genre: iron maiden early metallica (pre-black album) tool type o negative megadeth pantera system of a down
I wouldnt consider ACDC metal either..... they influenced the genre, for sure.... but to call them a "metal band" is a bit too far. they are definitely hard rock. I am a fan of the band too..... especially the bon scott era.
no they arent. they influenced the genre, yes. but definitely a hard rock/blues band, much like acdc.
Some good metal bands; lets see here: Slipknot, Static X, Metallica, Iron Madien, Korn, MudVayne, Pantera, Ozzy Osbourne, Kiss, Black Sabbath, Rammstein, Manson, White Zombie, Rob Zombie, Coal Chamber, Alice in Chains, Silverchair, Kitty, Motograter, Arch Enemy, Black Label Society, Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, AC / DC. Just a few to name.
yeah i definatly like metal, i dont care for the death/dark metal tho, but some of the metal/rock is really awesome.
Chorus from "Surfacing", by Slipknot - Fuck it all, fuck this world, fuck everything that you stand for. Don't belong, don't exist. Don't give a shit, Don't ever judge me. If that isn't just MADE for teen angst, then I'm a tiny asian man with a cabbage in my butt. And System of a Down's just a bunch of Arabs bitching about politics and pizza and advertising and blabbering about cocks and smoking cigars. Oh, how I long for the good old self-titled days.
Ah yes, Black Sabbath made the greatest music, but I don't consider them really metal. Although stuff like Heaven and hell can be called heavy metal, when I think of Black Sabbath I first think of their Ozzy albums. And I love the music called stoner rock like Atomic Bitchwax and the crossover with doom metal like Electric Wizard and Sleep. It's great that bands like the Atomic Bitchwax, Nebula and Orange Goblin are making music with a real rock 'n roll attitude again. That's also what I love about bands like Motörhead or Nashville Pussy.
you just mentioned 2 of the greatest guitarists of all time. also i dig on ministry and meat puppets off that list. i really dont like much metal but my friends love em, stratovarious, grave digger, dream theater, slayer. only really heavy stuff i listen to is a few industrial bands. kmfdm/mdfmk, ministry, skinny puppy, gravity kills, pigface, my life with thrill kill kult, oh and nin the amazing. oh and IRON butterfly and LED zepplin were the 2 early influences in metal.. haha... get it.... yea....
of couuuurse, how could I forget to mention Stratovarius! They're awesome. And to add another one to my list, Sonata Arctica.
yngwie is AMAZING, and michael angelo is amazing too, check out his video speedkills, he does some crazy shit.
System of a Down is singing about the government and it's issues. Not about pizza and shit like that. If you actually listen to the words of the songs you will come to find this true. I do admit the song 'Cigaro' is kinda crazy. But I like them anyways.
Yngwie IS amazing. Anyway, I actually don't consider myself to be a hippy, but actually more of a metalhead.
I hate to say this - I said it before but am saying it now in a kinder gentler form. When your guitar playing is more about size comparisons with your fellow guitar nerds - and not about music...... please stop. To many people Yngwie Malmsteen is like having a drill ream out your third eye.
Ahh well, you still have your other two eyes, right? ;-) Besides, we all have the right to like the kinds of music we like, and to play music the ways we like. It's called variety, and it is a good thing. Who agrees?
thats because youre retarded and you listen to thrash and grunge and other gay shit like that and I bet you couldnt even name 3 of his songs without doing a search
I'm not going to complain about the Slipknot comment because I havent even heard that song and im not a fan. however mabie you should actually think before saying that there blabbering about cocks. the song i think your talking about is Cigaro, it's a very good song but there not talking about cocks, its a medifore to the US governments attitude to the Iraq war, "Our God is better than there God." Song's are more than just a bunch of words put together. They have a meaning. Use your brain when you listen to songs.
