I've seen Overkill live, old school thrash at it's best. I'm not a fan, but they really got the crowd going :cheers2: One of the rare albums in the thrash metal genre that I dig: It's not pure thrash though
gay or not, rob halford was an influence for many a metal head, i really dig some old priest from sinner, stained class and rock a rolla, would be considered classic rock now, but back in the 70s it was considered heavy metal.
Who cares if he's gay. Gaahl's gay as well, it's kinda laughable some of his former fans are distantiating themself from his music now he's gotten out of the closet.
Dragon Force is a novelty... they're fun to listen to for a while. Then you realize that every song is shit, the lead singer is shit and the riffs all sound shit. Anyone hear like Agalloch? a folk metal band which tries to produce winter through music. Most bands are influenced by other bands. Agalloch though is influenced by Woodsmoke, snow, fire, wrought iron, fog, rain, stone, moss (taken from their myspace) They dominate... and they are from America :S
They sound interesting, I havn't heard of them but do enjoy folk metal, I shall check them out cheers dude
they require a bit of patience due to their doomish nature. However totally worth it. Look for their song "Not unlike the waves" amazing piece and "fire above ice below" Enjoy
Agalloch is pretty good, I like those atmospheric nordic folk soundscapes as well I don't understand why everyone's talking about Dragonforce last couple of years. They must have some good promotion? I mean, they're nothing new. Not that you have to sound new if you make good power metal but they're not among the greatest in this genre neither. I have nothing against power metal, actually I'm pretty fond about it when it's done well. I'm not really into it anymore and am not up to date about the latest bands but you keep running into Dragonforce anywhere
Haven't heard of any of them! It's striking though that bands with names like For the fallen dreams are never my cup of tea Just googled it and yep, it appears to be metalcore
Enjoy, if you don't know what you're talking about you just shouldn't talk about it. It makes you look silly. I liked their first version of Valley of the damned. Heard nothing interesting anymore after that. Their debut didn't sound anything special to me neither. But it could be just me, one of the most appreciated power metal bands is Hammerfall and I don't really dig more than three songs of them as well. Where the dragon lies bleeding is a typical power metal classic though, just like Valley of the damned of Dragonforce. :cheers2:
I clearly do... Power Rangers music is exactly like power metal. Only Power Rangers dominated and Power Metal makes me want to hurl. Dragon Force = heres a crappy scale at 50 bpm. Lets play it over and over again at 200bpm. It sounds shit! Does however makes me want to do backflips
I really liked Agalloch - Fire Above, Ice Below. Thanks! :cheers2: I love power metal. But power metal songs are either Shit or Great. My fav bands are from power metal, Manowar gamma ray edguy rhapsody of fire falconer some halloween freedom call Jag Panzer
If I had a swimming pool full of doom metal. I would have 1 leg in there. In the way that I do enjoy some doom metal. However some just bores the shit out of me. I have always felt sorry for the drummer aswell... doesn't crack a sweat during a concert :hat:
Can you be more specific, I have no clue in what these two things are exactly alike (except for the word power in their names)?
Awsome! I am super glad you enjoy them! I have been meaning to ask you aswell. Say if I am going to buy myself a unicycle is their anything I should look for when buying? I know I need one with one wheel Unicycles are made of metal so yes, it is metal related. Imagine a metal band where all the singers ride unicycles.. that would be awesome
