This is such a great technique. I still use it for references of weight and measurement. It always seems updated. wouldnt want us cactus heads losing this valuable piece of our art to fade away in the past pages of our beloved forum. when will we learn to get this right and move onto the science of tripping out with this stuff and reporting on our findings of the innerworld. instead of bumbling around with the cactus myths of our recent pasts. The only secret i cannot divulge is the where abouts of the NAoH. If I were to let that out it would possibly jeopardize the supply by political suppression. All I can say is its not home depot.

How exactly do you precipitate out the crystals?????

 

freeze precipitation. basically you freeze a reduced amount of the alkaloid solution in a glass jar and crystals should precipitate out.
it has been laid out plain and simple earlier in this thread.

 

Hint: After the crystals are separated, dissolving them in HOT distilled water makes it easier to collect them all. And, it recrystallizes beautifully in the evaporation dish.
