Merry Christmas vs. Happy Holidays

OK, I lied...I heard more of it on the radio today

The governor wants everyone to call the Christmas tree in the state house a "holiday tree" instead.

I can't find an article on the banning of Merry Christmas, but it is banned in the state house only. The governor wants it to be "Happy Holidays" only.

and the Pagan folks were using the trees before the Christians tried to wipe 'em out in God's name. I kinda try to respect the persons belief when I wish them some kind of greeting unless they get nuts on me and start frothing at the mouth about baby Jeebus.

Since I'm more Earth based in spititual beliefs I want some respect for my faith too. Reasonable Christians will get a Merry Christmas...if they're nut jobs they'll get a soltice reference.

Really, I couldn't care less, but I always say MERRY CHRISTMAS because it's politically incorrect this day in age. In reality, Christmas is a pagan, solar holiday and has really nothing to do with the biblical Christ. Christmas can kiss my ass for all I care.
