cats, like humans though, need a reduction in fertility and thus birthrate. more of either of us, doesn't insure the survival of either of our species, because the way certain things in the environment work, our mutual excess is at the very root of our own peril. and we can put lead back in old men's pencils, we can certainly find/create non-draconian ways of achieving this. no cat or human, should ever be "put to sleep", but we do need to do something, because climate and environment and disease, are all linked together and to population, as well as to human's choices of technologies and how humans use them. and the speed bump is coming, and on the other side of it, well i do give cats better odds then humans.
