I never thought about the gender divide in the election past mabey women wanting to elect the first women but dudes I guess generally find what cackles is selling alot more repulsive.

Whats in a cackles presidency for men?

Take our guns, speed limit our cars, a show ID CCP style surveillance state, higher taxes and free abortions and tampons in our bathrooms.

Seriously I mean it, whats in it for men ? Surely I am missing something.

 

Tampons in the bathroom would be convenient…I have daughters. If I’m on the road, it’s possible I could then run in and grab a couple of them.

The rest of it I don’t really see as gendered issues, at least not inherently. Abortion availability is important but having it be “free”? That’s a different fight/issue. Getting ID’d, speed limited, and tougher gun laws really aren’t gendered issues to me at all, and even abortion has a weird dance around the issue.

Where I think Trump butts into gendered issues are in the same sort of appeal to “incel” guys, or anybody who’s snowflakey enough to actually feel emasculated by society. That’s a highly individualistic thing. Trump has that belligerent, defiant and often racist attitude a lot of these guys probably look up to and accounts for some portion of his cult of personality.

On the other side, I don’t think the average voter really thinks about Kamala being a woman. I unfortunately do see a lot of slut-shaming over her alleged quid-pro-quo promotions, which isn’t only a double standard men usually wouldn’t be subjected to but also remnants of our puritanical toots where the sexual part is so salacious that it eclipses the ACTUALLY concerning part where power is abused and misused by government officials. As I’ve said about a lot of candidates, I also find this unnecessary as there’s plenty to pick apart on the policy side without resorting to nasty personal attacks.

I don't know there is nothing on the policy side on Kamala Harris for President to pick apart. The blankness of this unelected installed candidate is just so insulting when so much is going on in the world. The cackling candidate that won't talk to reporters. Its scary what are they planning ?

I would like the next President to be rational, compassionate, wise.
One that upholds the rule of law and makes sure all in public Office uphold the law.
One that will stand up for America and ensure (and secure) America's place on the global stage.
One that will stand up and fund and support the military to prevent any other 'actor' from threatening or undermining the US.

There's about 100,000 people in the US that die from suicide each year. Another 100,000 that die from alcohol poisoning and alcoholism. Another 100,000 that die from opioid overdose. Men make up 2/3's of these deaths. White men are the biggest portion of those men.

It wasn't always like that. Something happened.

Are these deaths of despair really all just snowflakes? Or maybe you're out of touch because the media is paying little attention to these deaths, and even less to their racial and gender composition?

 

That probably dovetails but doesn’t quite jive with what I’m saying.

What I am saying is that there’s a population of people who are receiving different signals - maybe a John Wayne kind of man as some sort of ideal vs. what’s actually expected. MeToo, a movement to restrict guns, an economy which makes a single income unlivable…probably a hundred other things - and they’re confused. And in my world, it’s OK to not be the classic stoic man. Trump stands against this, reinforces the “classic” man, and further makes the world as it is look like a twisted mess. I’m lucky that I don’t necessarily buy into the old school machista manhood, but I can see where if one does buy into this, it looks pretty bleak out there. Dovetails nicely both with what you’re saying and with some of Trump’s more fringe adherents.

 

I simply failed to address the ID thing. And no, I don’t like or support it. I like cash, I like carrying my pistol with no questions asked, I like going barefoot, going nude, I like my weed, I like my booze, I like my cars, freedom of speech, bill of rights, everything. I want to say yes to more liberty, not less, and at the core I just don’t think that’s a really gendered issue, which is what I was originally responding to.

Its Americans last, male and female. FEMA is only giving Hawaii wildfire survivors $700 per household. Billions for Ukraine and Billions for Isreal and billions for the migrants but Americans we are worthless.
