I don’t say this to demean women. On the contrary I love women. This is an image of a Peacock displaying to attract a mate. The male equivalent is a guy with a six pack walking around without wearing a shirt. I couldn’t find an image of a female bird putting on a display for a mate. Apparently female birds don’t need to be beautiful. Their role is to simply select a male partner. The guy does all the hard work. Which brings me to this point. I guess beautiful women know they beautiful and women with awesome bodies and legs know they have awesome bodies and legs. If they didn’t then they wouldn’t wear short dresses, short shorts, revealing tops or bikinis. If this is true then why do ladies wearing short dresses continually tug at the skirt of their dress when seated? Surely they know that a short skirt reveals more thigh when they are seated? Or is the tugging at the skirt simply a way to draw attention to their great legs.
What if the tail feathers just spread out like a stretch while he's yawning? And the females are just coming up saying, "oh, you're bored? Let's fuck.". Then it's kinda the females putting themselves out there.
That was a pretty elaborate intro just to bring it back around to the question of why women pull at their skirts when they sit down
more gender silliness. customs, like places, are each in their own different ways. and how genders are perceived, is culture-centric. does it ever even occur to some people, how long we have existed before the invention of the six pack? or non-human life before that, or planets and the suns they orbit before that? blindness is to never look beyond the familiar. failure to do so is not a moral superiority. it is failure.
this is called gynocentrism. it's a behavior which usually develops in places/societies where resources are abundant or overly abundant, but it is not the norm.
it hadn't occurred to me until right now, but i do rarely see skirts anymore. they're more common in the summer of course, but even then i think they're largely being replaced by shorts. which makes sense to me, seems like wearing a skirt would be kind of a pain in the ass unless you really don't care who sees up it.
