If you have any questions about the Christian faith, I would be more than happy to answer by PM or email.

Perhaps you could narrow it down to what specifically is puzzling to you. Syncretism, "The pagan orgins of Christianity" and the subject of mystery religions is quite broad and there are plenty of resources both on and offline that discuss the matter. There's not much I could say on the matter that hasn't already been said.

While I can't answer for the original poster, I do think that her idea is in line with passages like Hebrews 10:24-25 which saids, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Very common problem, even among Christians. One thing you should realize is that this issue is psychological and not logical or theological, stemming from the fact that one is rebelling against the idea of an exclusive religion. The core issue here is not whether Christianity is true or not, but whether one likes the idea of Christianity, and "like" and "dislike" are often confused with "true" and "false." I don't mean to say that such is the case with you, I’m just pointing out the nature of this issue.

Some Buddhists believe that god is something that runs through all of us. Humanists believe the whole notion of god is crap.

It's not secret. If you'd read my original post, I said the forums would be viewable by everyone. You only need a membership to participate. This is just to help keep down the harrassment. If we allowed debates about whether or not there is a God or allowed people to attack Christians just for fun or whatever, it'd be a redundant forum as it'd be exactly like Christianity.

Christianity is for debating everything, including the religion itself, and where people can come to vent their feelings about how much they hate or love Christians and Christianity.

The forum for the group will be for Christians and those who will remain respectful of Christians, it will be a place to discuss our beliefs without, as I said, unsolicited and unhelpful input from others, not to mention complete thread derailing and depletion of thread integrity. It's a place for Christians to have real conversations about their beliefs without useless input such as "Lick my hairy balls, you facists!", or without having to stop the conversation to defend every single thing they said.

There are also Christians on this site that would participate more in Christian related threads if it wasn't for fear of being ripped apart by some of the rude people in here. Not every Christian is strong enough to withstand that, some are meek and do not handle attacks well. Nothing wrong with that, it's just how we are. Regardless, they need a place they can post about Christian stuff too.

Here is a perfect example of useless "input" and thread derailment. People getting upset about this idea because they are worried that somewhere there will be forum for Christians that they cannot disrupt with harrassment and name calling. "Oooohh, how dare those Christians not let me in to tell them my genius idea that they are all shitheads and that Jesus was one too!!" It's not as if we're making the Christianity forum private.

"It would have it's own protected forums that only members of the group can post in"

so then, what exactly does that comment mean then?

I don't mean to be rude, but you don't actually read other peoples posts do you? Right now I am replying to your post in the Christianity forum, which is public and will not be made private by the creation of a member group for Christians. So you can still spew hatred to your hearts content in the Christianity forum. Which, I remind you, is this forum and is not being made private. By the way, the Christianity forum will still be public, it will remain a public and not a private forum.

I'm not really sure why that is difficult for you to understand, but oh well. If you are still baffled by this fantasically advanced subject I will attmept to explain it again, you only need ask.

    Whoa guy!

    1. As a general rule when you have to use a disclaimer such as "I don't mean to be rude" it's because what you about to say or write is going to be rude.

    2. I was asking what i thought was a legit question. misreading your post doesn't make me an idiot.

    3. Show me one post in this forum where i have "spewed hatred". In fact i've invited members of this forum to post in my personal forum 99 Bottles harrassment free on more than one occassion...

    4. Don't be an ass. WWJD guy, WWJD....
