Yes, some of my best friends are "bums" and I was a "bum" for a somewhat lengthy period of my life....amazing that "bums" are humans too huh?

 

If that story had come from Tucson in the early 90s, that bum could have been me, except I've never had dreads or a Marley shirt. There, but for the grace of God, (or good luck, or something) go YOU. Most folks are only a couple paychecks away from the street.

 

Bums kinda creep me out.. but if one asked me for money I'd probably throw him a couple bucks.

 

I cannot believe the stereotyping that the vast majority of people participate in when regarding "bums." Seriously guys.....what the fuck?

 

when i was waiting for a dealer once, i was leaning against a side of a building, and i had just gotten back from camping and i guess i looked pretty rough, some hispanic lady gave me 15$.

i was gonna get an extra gram or two. but then i felt like crap because i took some woman's money, so i gave it to a real bum.

Well the guy did refer to himself as a bum so thats why i used that word.

 

yea one time this bum was asking me for money and i went got my homies and we rolled up on this fool, beat him with a bat, then put him in my truck and dumped him off a bridge.

That's not even remotely funny dude.....I personally know people who have had things VERY similar to that happen to them. To this day my dad on the streets still has punks like that come up and harras the shit out of him...he's been hospitalized 7 times because of it. I know and have heard of others who have been killed in incidents like this too. Don't joke about shit like that man....

You guys have no fucking ideal....I wish you were forced to live on the streets.

He's not my biological dad, and he chooses to live on the streets. Been on them for 21 years this year now. I love the man, and I love many other people I've come across/befriended while living on the streets and not living on them, so it's hard for me to hear people belittle and generalize "homeless" peoples situations. Especially what Nat. Philosophy said, because that actually hits home, people really do that, much more often than is publicly noticed....

No need to, you're just an asshole man...I've already come to that conclusion quite a while ago. Things individuals like you have to say have little or no meaning to me...because they are usually illogical or rather idiotic statements, such as I have observed. But when you make a statement like that trying to be funny....that's just rather sick to me.

 

Well i helped someone i didnt belittle them at all.

 

No man, I'm not saying you did....what you did was clearly appreciated. I can say first hand from people helping me out like that and vice-versa that it is a very "good" thing to do and can mean a lot more than one would think.

Most bums are bums because they caused it to happen. And then they want you to feel sorry for them. Not me.
