Hello Internet People! I am new to salvia, I have only been taking it for about a month so far. In that month, I have had about a dozen trips, plus a few other experiences while I was experimenting with low doses. I have found that salvia has an amazing ability to treat my chronic pain. By taking a small dose of 50x salvia in the appropriate setting, I find myself taken far away from the pain that has plagued me for the last 8 years. Afterwards I get a good number of hours(1-4) of relaxation. No other painkiller or psychedelic or drug of any sort has brought me as far away from the pain as salvia has. Because of this, I am starting to research salvia; I feel that it has immense potential to help people like me who are in chronic pain with no cure in sight. The best relaxing effect for me so far involves: 1) Darkness 2) Calm Music 3) A Blanket* - this may sound weird, but by wrapping myself in a blanket, I can use it as a safety tool to find my body when out of body experiences move to a scary place 4) Talking/Singing* - I found this as a suggestion in a journal about an experience with a Mazatec Shaman. The Shaman told the tripper to sing away the bad spirits. In my last few trips, I found myself able to find stability by talking or singing with the music. 5) A Tweezers Head of 50x (I don't have any accurate measuring scale on hand) 6) Short Metal Pipe 7) Torch Lighter I have had a number of different kind of trips on Salvia, The ideal meditative trip for me right now seems to be just hallucinating a bit, and rather than going fully out of body, just descending a bit below my eyes. Further than this still can net a good relaxation effect, but I am cautious about revisiting some of the less comfortable places I've been (Took a hit while listening to power metal... big mistake). Less than this however does not do well at relieving pain. So now, I would like to ask everyone on this forum a couple questions: 1) Do you have any suggestions on ways to enhance the meditative potential of salvia? 2) Do you, or does anyone you know, use salvia medicinally? By this I mean that they use it like I might to counteract an oncoming migraine. Thank you for your time and answers :sunny:
First off I want to say... Great initial thread! Utilizing Salvia in this way is news to me, it's good that it has been so effective for you. Your approach seems quite different then my approach for attempting to get the most out of the Salvia experience. I tend to prefer heavy doses and I have found MDMA compliments this experience really well and usually extends the duration of the return to baseline which is when I have explored meditation. Given your circumstances, I don't recommend you explore this combination but I put that information out there to be made available. One suggestion I have which may apply to you for question 1 and question 2 is if you have a surplus of Salvia, perhaps exploring a Sublingual/Buccal administration of Salvia may be worthwhile. This is probably more appropriate if you have a Salvia tincture or the plain Salvia Leaves. Salvia Tinctures would seem better ideally, as you don't have to hold a ton of bitter plant material in your mouth, however I've read mixed reports on the effectiveness of tinctures, so it's a tentative recommendation. The Sublingual/Buccal administration extends the duration compared to smoking and is usually considered milder in terms of intensity compared to smoking it, both qualities which seem like they may appeal to someone utilizing Salvia in the way you are. I believe a member on here felix4life was exploring it's anti-depressant properties. Most my Salvia experiences have been oriented to explore the mind bending realms and push my conconsciousness as a psychonaut, however Salvia has inadvertently helped me in some times of excessive drug use as well, so I think in the proper setting and with proper guidance it could be effective at helping with addiction.
