They we're born to sustain higher life... its pretty noble.

Oh, a PETA video... thats balenced... PETA are liers and charlatans I'm sure that videos tastelss before I click on it, but that doesn't indicate the vast majority of the way animals are killed, and yes I am denying it because you don't have anything to back it up other then tasteless horrible deaths on video perpetrated by liers.

    Um, yes we do know...

There have been numerous studies to determine the same thing, we know parts of the brain that produce emotion and thought, and the only animals that have memories or even the simplest of thought are higher mammals, such as some of the apes, some aquatic mammals, and a few others.

Chickens don't love, and a chicken won't feel sorrow if you kill another chicken on front of it... it'll run because of a reflex... it'll respond to stimuli, but so do plants.

    Animals aren't others.

well, my dear sweet grandma used to kill chickens for dinner. she'd grab them by the feet & whack their heads against the wall, then as they dangled there sensless she'd step on their head and yank on their feet. heads popped right off. very practical woman, she was.

and speaking from personal experience, chickens are stupid. they deserve to be eaten. humans are just animals too. you don't see lions arguing whether or not it's morally correct to eat zebras, do ya? or discussing the least painful way to kill them?

All we do is assume. We don't personally know anything about any animal besides ourselves.
Animals other the world with us.

Tamee, why did you decide to become a vegan or vegetarian?

I think people who are "real vegan or vegetarian" are ones who dont force there opions on others..
And the ones who are annoying with it and say outlandish things are ones that only do it to "be cool"....

I decided to become a vegan because I believe in freedom for everything.
I agree with not forcing opinions on others.
I've never met anyone who was a vegan to try to be cool, but I haven't really met a whole lot of other vegans, either.

Okay, I respect that and everything, but you kind of were forcing your opinions though, just a little bit. Making someone feel bad cause they dont believe the same as you, is forcing your opinions and such.
Yeah, there are people who are vegan to be cool, but you can spot those ones...hehe

When did I force my opinions and make someone feel bad?

You're right, I'm sure teams of highly educated scientsts have absolutely no idea of what they are taliking about. What right do they have proving that no animal besides humans and our close genetic cousins can think or posess emotions on even a painfully basic level, thereby elimination all arguments of morality by the anti-mean vegetarians?

My argument is not that we should not eat meat because animals feel. My argument is that life should be free and not held captive before I kill it.

I will gladly leave people alone. Will they leave the animals alone?

And Look again. The hypocritical side is that of the the meat eaters.

Maybe if you could face reality and your guilt, you would not be so pissed off.

Yes, your argument is that we should not eat meat because animals feel. In order for "torture" to exist in the first place the "tortured" must be able to have conscious knowledge that they are being tortured. A chicken has no concept of captivity or freedom, it can't process emotion on any level, and therefore cannot be "tortured" or "treated inhumanely."
