ok... i've been vegetarian for a long time and maybe the biggest reason for not eating meat is that i really hate the taste of it. also i don't like the way people treat animals, but i'm aware that people need proteins to survive... that's why i'm not vegan. i don't think we're doing something bad when drinking milk or yogurt... and i'm aware that the normal human diet should include meat, it's just that i feel better not eating it... anyway, i don't mind other people eating meat, it's their own choice. if i were angry because of that it would be the same as if i were angry because of lions eating other animals... eating meat is normal and natural. it has nothing to do with war, because war is totally pointless, and killing animals for food is not. do whatever you want, just don't judge other people, because nobody has right to do that.
I am sort of in the middle about the whole subject. Sometimes i see killing animals for meat very disgusting. But then, i think that, well, we need meat to survive. And then i see my best freind, whos a vegan, he doesn't eat any animal bi-products, and he's the healthiest out of all of us! So, i really don't know where i'm at with the whole scene. Sometimes, i just think we go a little overboard with the killing of animals, that's all.
I'm a vegetarian myself but im not gonna sit here and preach to people about why they should become one. The thing I hate is how meat eaters always use the "but your still killing an innocent plant" line.Do you really think plants feel pain and have nerve endings or do they only directly act on their environment? Also the fact that were on the top of the food chain has to do with our smarts not with are physical stature.Besides were supposed to be the caretakers of the universe not the destroyers of it imo. I myself became a vegetarian just because I believe the consuming of meat is a waste of resources as it takes way too much from the earth to raise animals for consumption and also because I don't like to have to buy my food from corperations when I can grow my own food for alot cheaper and not support the government. Also I believe the animal world will become extinct if we keep up with the eating of animals then everyone who relies on meat will be killing each other to get there hands on some precious meat.
Well, my freind is a vegan, and he gets all the protein he needs from supplements. He's healthier than i am, which isn't saying alot, but he still is in fine shape.
I eat meat because I love the flavor and believe that it's an integral part of a balanced diet. I can respect a vegetarian diet for nutrition reasons though I disagree, but I do take serious issue with folks who insist on calling me a murderer because of my dietary choices. To paraphrase something posted elsewhere here, being a vegetarian isn't much fun unless you can be better than someone else. Phooey! In your (sHIP of fools) "honor" I'm going to have a nice, big, juicy steak!
i'm back to eating meat i was a veggie, strict too but i need meat for protein etc, i know you can get that from other stuff too and yes it works and i tried thatbut its not possible for me to live that way for it costs me 100 dollar a month moreon food. i lived in a strict vegetarian community, my health was betteri ate the right products. i cant just leave out meat from what i'd normally would eat with meat. i get really sick etc. so in order to survive i eat meat, not much and always the so called 'good' meat and i know someone who twice a year kills an animal *doest buy his dead animal, but kills it himself to survive and uses the whole animal* and he gives me meat from that too. i do think people should use the whole animal when they kill it. eat the meat, use the skin, use the bones. don't just use it for one part of that animal that happens to taste good and throw away the rest. if i can afford it again to be a vegetarian, i defenitly will, no doubt about it, cuz raising animals for meat etc still feels bad to me and its a waste of recources. i do however still want to learn how to kill an animal in a proper fast way without a gun so if i find myself in the middle of nowhere one day with nothing to eat i'd be able to survive.
I don't think anyone should compare a meat-eating-human to a lion or tiger. Humans lock animals in cages and pump them full of drugs so they can be eaten. Thats what my "pardon the pun" beef is with. If anyone is interested in environmentalism, animal welfare and their personal health then I think veganism is one of the easiest and best steps they can take. Einstein, and Da Vinci were both advocates of vegetarianism. Also, I feel because we don't need meat to survive, everytime we eat it we cause the unnecessary suffering of an animal.
true! thats why i eat the meat that my friend kills to survive -he lives in the woods 6 months a year- wrong, if you pass out, get sick, headaches etc and you eat meat one time and its gone, it does mean meat is something good to eat if you cant pay for the stuff you need to eat to replace the meat. it is so goddamn expensive to eat the good things. you have to be rich! 100 euro a month ain't gonna work. i think eating biological meat twice a month and twice a month fish (also watch out which fish etc etc) keeps a person healthy. also i noticed that if you go to the supermarket and get your meat there, maaan it looks sick if you compare it to fresh meat. and yeah, it is fucking up your body when you eat that shit. so get the good stuff. or get filthy rich so you can afford it. hell i'm happy when i have enough money to have a breakfast and lunch, not only dinner. and if someone offers that to me, i aint gonna be complaining if theres meat in it.
if you are a vegetarian, cool, if not...you're not as enlightened as you think Ah, so enlightenment is seeing things your way? humans are honestly disgusting to me...we simply take advantage of nature true but what creature dosent? The monkey using a stick to get the ants, the bugs camoflaging themselves to look like sticks, tell me thats not taking advanage of whats around if i could survive w/out eating plants, i would love to its called Birtharinanism, water and sunshine man and if you think plants are somehow less alive, i would say your wrong, the crunch sound of the cabbage is mearly it screaming. Try not to insult the veggies just because they cant stare at you, they may become vengful! As far has heatlhy vegan friends, it could be said that someone who has the disicpline to maintain a vegan diet also has other healthly habbits Einstein, and Da Vinci were both advocates of vegetarianism. Yes but, Aristotle, Plato, Marx, and Jesues all ate meat
I am a vegetarian because it makes me feel healthier. I just can't get into the whole "holier than thou" vibe tho. The Dalai Lama eats meat (do a web search, or read "Imagine all the People"), despite clear Buddhist writing to the contrary. Am I holier than the Dalai Lama? No.
i used to hate the taste of meat to...i didnt really eat any meat at all until i was at least 14 or 15. i tried to force myself to eat hamburgers and chicken, but i would always gag or throw it up. but now i finally got a taste for chicken and some fish, but thats all i really eat...i would be a veggie if i could, but i need protein. But i guess i do enjoy the taste of meat now...some of it
Ya'll preach too much. I go by the Canada food guide. The food chain. This is the western world. People eat meat. Face it. I used to be a vegetarian, hell I used to be vegan. But I got really sick. I think it's fine to be a vegetarian, if it's for you, but you can't go around being some vegetarian evangelist. Especially if you're obnoxious about it like the original poster. You'll catch more flies with honey than with... Oh wait, that's killing an animal. Forget what I just said now. Just forget it.
I eat meat. it says in the Bible you can so i do. Animal was made to serve man. But i totally respect yalls opions to eat vegtables.
i might be vegetarian but i don't go around preachin to people they have different reasons for becoming one in the first place
