Hey you made me think (oh shit, bad idea) maybe a vegi is a meat eater too. I mean when things die they end up as nutrients in the ground thus the plant sucks up them nutrients to make its produce the same as a meaty is a vegi becuase the plant makes the meat. Hmmm perplexing.
yes...but things are (usually) dying naturally to fertilise plants - especially if you grow your own. And there's compost...it may smell like something's dead in there but it's just coffee grounds and potato skin
Ask any vegetarian and they'll say the same thing...meateaters usually give veggies a harder time than any veggie could give a meateater. That's why it's irritating to see some of these posts that say we're holier than thou...because I run into WAYYYYYYYY more holier than thou meateaters on a daily basis than I'd like to admit.
there was a guy on here for a while who was a 'born again' veg. this was several years ago though. people poking their noses in other people's bed rooms are bad enough. people poking their noses in other peoples dinner plates, that is disgusting. plants do produce nutrition more effeciently then creatures that have to eat plants in order to do so. although i still think not driving a car does more for the environment then not eating meat. and the meat packing industry IS a rather greusome bussiness, and not nearly as 'humanitarian' as it could be would be should be i'm still a carnivour but if i had to skin and gut and butcher every once living creature i was going to eat, i'm sure i'd eat a whole lot of plant matter and very little meat. not so much out of squiemishness, but because, well unless you've ever done it you probably don't realise how much, but it IS one damd hell of a lot of work. =^^= .../\...
LOL So then for every plant you eat - will you then come back as a carrot in a juice bar? It's funny how Vegans are so quick to get on the band wagon with animals rights but think nothing of ripping a carrot out of the ground WITHOUT GIVING THANKS that it gave up it's life for you. So yes now I will have to hear all the typical bullshit responses from the vegans now that plants have no feelings. LOL But EVERY single LIVING thing has a Spirit.
fucking right. And the angel of the Lord came unto me, snatching me up from my place of slumber, and took me on high, and higher still until we moved in the spaces betwixt the air itself. and he bore me unto a vast farmland of our own midwest, and as we descended cries of impending doom rose from the soil. one thousand, nay, a million voices full of fear. and terror possessed me then. and I begged, "Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?" And the angel said unto me, "These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots. You see, reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust." And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one millions terrified brothers and roared, "Hear me now, I have seen the light, they have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul. damn you! let the rabbits wear glasses, save our brothers...can I get an amen? can I get a hallelujah? thank you, Jesus.
You took my comment too literal. Joke all you want, but do you really think karma is not a circle? Do you really think one can slit throats and bash in brains with impunity? Demons and devils live in worlds of suffering of their own invention. What kind of world do you want to live in?
we all have to eat to live. even carrots depend on dead things making the soil nutritious for them to grow in. but we don't have to be unappreaciative of all the cycles of living and being eatin that enable each of us to do so. i think that's the point here, more then in what form or source we consume our nutrition from. =^^= .../\...
I know Karma is a Circle. I have been a Buddhist for many years and also a Clinical Hypnotherapist who has regressed 1000's of people into Past Lives for over 25 years. Demons and Devils exist from peoples thoughts-its' how they are created and made real. For what we think we create. Also, yes Cause and effect is The Karmic basis of life. All I was trying to point out was that Vegans would do well in GIVING THANKS for the LIVING PLANTS that give up their lives for their Vegan Diet. I'm just looking out for my plant friends who everyone seems to forget are also living things.
you know something else? i prefer killing my own animals it's a personal and spiritual necessity for me that if i'm going to eat an animal, i need to do the killing and not put it onto someone else and keep my hands clean. but the craziest thing started happening, i started seeing more wildlife. my husband has an uncanny knack for luring wild birds to eat out of his hand, i have a picture on one of my computers. i've touched wild elk, been investigated by coyotes and little bobcats. it's like they recognize me as a fellow of theirs, and can tell when i'm not hunting or something. when i'm hunting, the slightest scent of me and they're the next mountain over. but when i'm not hunting i can walk up to a water hole with a cow elk and her calf watering and they won't run. it's like magic. but i think they can just tell. and maybe spending so much time in the territory gets them used to the sound and smell of you. but it doesn't make it any less dazzling.
If there aren't a lot of predators around, animals just become less timid. You can "hunt" miniature deer on the Queen Charlotte Islands with a hammer and apple.
pfft. ain't nuthing like that here. this is colorado, this is the american southwest. there's way enough places around here where people have absolutely no desire to go trudging.
