I love to cook but I don't like to cook the same things over and over so I'm looking for suggestions for unique meal ideas. If you have a recipe, even better. If you're from a completely different part of the world than me and have an ethnic dish to suggest, that is the best of all.
I semi-regularly post on a website called orgjunkie.com where they have a big list of meal plans each week. I also send recipes weekly to my mailing list but for some reason I can't think of anything right now. Maybe because I don't know what type of food you're into but I think I posted a good vegan Pozole' recipe I can find for you.
stuffed green peppers. or poor man's casserole. (my wife makes a decent one.. macaroni & chese can of mixed vegetables can of tuna. optional extra cheese cracker crumbs or even croutons on top.. It's good in small quantities
Buy one of these and make juice from all kinds of veggies and fruits. Fruits and veggies are not expensive, some are, but for the most part its very very cheap. Drink two 12 ounce glasses (when I drink them they need to be cold and I just pound it, I do not sip because it will separate, so drink fast and the taste is more fulfilling) One of pure carrot juice with something else (tons of ways to make it how you want) The other greens, celery, chard, rhubarb, clearly, bok choy, ginger and many others... 24 ounces of juice ponund cold in the morning will keep you full and going tell lunch. Then have 1 more glass, and maybe a small healthy sandwich, get creativity, ya know how. Then for dinner I got a little heavier, some meats, some chesse, brown rice, and with everything else at dinner, buy the best non chemical stuff you can. Their are lots of people on this site who can help with juicing. The picture of the juicer I posted I own, $100, easy to clean, works great. Juicing is good for adults and younger and anyone human.
Do you like/had curry before? There are a few different types of curry, and obvisouly vegetarian and non-vegetarian options as well. N'aan bread and poppadoms are a MUST. Sweet and Spicey variations. I personally like a nice spicy chicken curry, lots of different veg, a rich sauce, plenty of naan and poppadoms as i said, nd white rice usually, i do like brown and other types of rice. Interestingly I know in the past, and i believe still now, in the country I was born (england) curry is the national dish (or the most popular dish in the country) As im sure some will know its traditionally an Indian meal, but loads of good curry in UK. I reside in the USA now as many on Hip realize, and there arent nearly as many places to get curry let alone GOOD curry, my mum and I usually make it together, and she has her own adapted recipe, normally makes a very spicy and a mild one if we have people over to enjoy with us. :sunny: hope that made a little sense DOWNSIDE The house/apartment/room/wherever, that you cook the meal will REEK for a good while. I normally light candles during and keep em lit after meal is done. I like curry smell but not lingering in the damn house for a long time.
box of pasta, jar of sauce, jar of water Bake at 425 for 45 minutes, until the water has absorbed. Add cheese and pepperoni, or whatever, and bake again for ten!
You've got me beat! LOL I used a Spanish translator for what I said - just for fun. I only know a handful of words in Spanish. What I said is: "My daughter in law is Puerto Rican." I've watched her cook and learned well.
I had to use translate for nuera. and then it confirmed my suspicions that puertorriquena meant pueerto rican. We had a Pot luck in spanish class one time and it seemed as if all the kids parents wanted to have the best dish in the class, so all the food was amazing. some of the best eating ive ever done was that day in spanish 101. just curious, how does it work out that your daughter is puerto rican?
Is her dad puerto rican? did she live there? did you adopt her from there? you don't have to go into detail if you don't want to obviously. HAHA I just read the words "in law" in your previous post.. that was the part that google translate failed to deliver. It makes sense now. You can disregard my uninformed question.
