And talking the train from Moscow to Paris isn't particularly safe. Once you get past the Czech republic, there are going to be a lot of people who want to mug you.

Moscows about the safest place to visit in Russia, aside from your occasional Chechen attacks. It's the large area between Moscow and the Czech Republic I wouldn't really want to be traveling on board a train.
