I thought the food alone was enough reason to boycott any fast food restaurant.

They don't have a website like that because America is a white supremacist country -- American culture IS white culture, every month is White History Month, and most "once-in-a-lifetime opportunities" are for white people.

Tim Wise has a great article that addresses this very issue: http://www.lipmagazine.org/~timwise/WhiteWhine.html
"Just because the norm is not racially-named, doesn't mean it isn't racialized."

"At McDonald's®, we believe that African-American culture and achievement should be celebrated 365 days a year — not just during Black History Month."

What about Latin-American culture? Asain-American culture? European-American culture?
    Racism
    1. a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement.
    2. a policy, system of government, etc., based upon or fostering such a doctrine; discrimination.

"Like the unique African Baobab tree, which nourishes its community with its leaves and fruit, McDonald's has branched out to the African-American community nourishing it with valuable programs and opportunities."

Why is McDonalds only help African-Americans and not Latin-Americans or Asain-Americans or European-Americans??

The Site should say At McDonald's®, we believe that the culture and achievement of all races should be celebrated 365 days a year.

I don't think the site should taken down, I think it should just be changed to repersent all races and cultures.

Do you know hwat that burger is made from? What they do at a slauter house is the kill the cow and then the send all the "good" meat to grocery stores. Then they take everything else- the eyes, the brains, the guts etc... and they put it in a big meat grinder and that is sent to McDonalds, McDonalds Bleachs it so it has not tatse and then adds their special sauce to give it favor... that why McDonalds tastes the same all over the world.

Mcdonalds may be alot of bad things, but I don't think they are racist.A hgher percentage of black people eat at mcdonalds and work at Mcdonalds, than any other group. They cannot afford to alienate blacks.

McDonald's is one of those places who does anything to get customers in. Why do you think they have cheap plastic toys in happy meals and play places? To bring kids in, who needs a parent to bring them. So they have the kids and the parents as the customers. Now, with that whole black thing, they're trying to look 'cool' in the hopes of getting more customers. And they made that one mexican food thing (i forget what it was exactly) where in the commercial they made everything all latino like. And with the whole red box movie rentals and wifi internet, they're just doing anything to get money.

here is questions from the feed back survey on that website. it was one of those agree/disagrre things. :McDonald’s is a brand that fits into my lifestyle McDonald’s is a brand that gets meMcDonald’s is a brand that moves with the times McDonald’s is a brand that provides opportunity McDonald’s is a company I trustMcDonald’s is a brand that gives me access McDonald’s is involved in my community McDonald’s is a brand that speaks to me
so obviously they're trying to make people think more highly of them and they want people to think that mcd's really cares about them

:)I also do not see how the site is racist. I think it is saying more how they support all races and if you think about it if you go to any mcdonalds you will see all sorts of people there and even people employed by them; People from different religions, backgrounds, and ethnic groups. so I would have to agree with most of the people on this post although I do not see how calling names or making assumptions will hep the situation.
    Respectfully,
    Rachel

McDonalds is just garbage food I would eat that crap anyway..
(if you are really desperate it can be a good place to take a piss)

I thought the site was a joke because of the black people and the fried chicken commercials on the bottom.
But, I looked up who owns the domain name and it is owned by the McDonalds Corporation along with 549 other domains.

They are probably getting a bunch of tax write offs and grants to offer Scholarships and junk to the “minorities’ so if this site is prejudice I would say it is prejudice against white people.

Really if there was a site about helping only white people… they would get sued by “minorities” for be selective and prejudice.

I'm all for better closeness in the black community, but from McDonalds? That's questionable at best.

THIS comment is racist, the website is fine.

I agree that American culture has a lot of elements that came from black people and their heritage and cultural origins should be taught in schools. As it stands, it's mostly European history, isn't it?

EVEN IF it is sucking up to establish firmer ties with their customer base, I really can't see that it's doing any harm... in fact, it genuinely does seem to be doing some good, even if it isn't exactly tearing down the social barriers.

On the other hand, saying stupid shit like this poster did as if all white people are exactly the same is vile, and only creates divisions. It also doesn't exactly speak very highly of the individual who makes the comment.

People are people... and that's why the world is moving forward, but also why it isn't moving forward in leaps and bounds.
